31/1/2020 12:30 | Hedgehog, Think £10m is a little low. Take a look at AAU for example, they're a low cost miner in turkey, they also have a 50/50 jv. On a production basis they're similar to KAT's deal. They do circa 30k oz per year from a couple of shallow pits, they need crushed ore etc and pit development so higher capex than a tailings project. However costs (AISC) are similar. AAU also have a large exploration target too at Salbinas which will add to their value. They're valued at circa £30m at the moment, still reasonably cheap and have been hinting at selling 50% of their production to fund Salinbas. they're paying off debt. My point being in certain aspects similar in scale to KAT's proposed acquisition. KAT are expecting to do 35,000oz so 17500 Oz net with a margin of around $1000/oz. That's a gross profit of around $17.5m pa. Pretty damn hefty for a £4m company. Many miners can trade at x10 or more of their cash flow. That cash could help them explore the Tanz gold and Nickel assets and bring the gold towards development. I reckon the 700k mainly inferred in Tanz is worth around their current cap. So £10m over the course of 2020 would make them still look cheap. If gold stays where it is and they get the numbers they quote (AISC and production volume) probably multiples of that (debt levels would need to be considered too). Would I buy those sometime later this year, perhaps, I'd need to see how things progress. However why by there when you can get the best of both worlds. KIBO have almost 55% of KAT, plus are talking about multiple revenue streams this year from power and coal. That KAT deal yesterday just makes these look like more of a screaming buy. Still well up my accumulation list, will see when the traders move on. Regards, Ed. | edgein
31/1/2020 12:10 | Thanks to the following posters on the ADVFN KAT thread for these useful posts about KAT's RNS yesterday: jackjackpaul 30 Jan '20 - 14:31 - 181 of 275 0 1 0 "#KAT market cap £1.5m whats this deal worth? £10m? rerate to 3-4p looks like. Debt funding also not equity" jackjackpaul 30 Jan '20 - 14:35 - 182 of 275 0 3 0 "What an RNS. 35000 oz gold production annually for 35 years. Mcap 2 million. Could 5-10 bag on that" Invester2010 30 Jan '20 - 18:04 - 231 of 275 0 2 0 "Did hit year high, it would not have if buyers are expecting much higher price. That leaves no risistance above what so ever. The RNS was total blinder, and changes everything about KAT. Thye are talking about 22mill+ a year in rev's and have very low start up with the joint venture. Took them a long time to put this together as you can see from the RNS. Would'ny qoute any prices - but investers will base on similair production levels, minus some risk. Its big." saint in exile 30 Jan '20 - 19:18 - 238 of 275 0 1 0 "Yeah and gold on the rise as well.. even more profit" KAT have other projects also, involving some very big numbers. | hedgehog 100
31/1/2020 11:14 | KIBO's CEO Louis Coetzee is also Chairman of KAT, and the JV (joint venture) announced yesterday by KAT vindicates his deal-making ability. And that's massively encouraging for the three PPAs (power purchase agreements) that KIBO is currently negotiating, An RNS on one of these is overdue, and would be the sort of 'big news' that caused KAT to more than treble yesterday. The KAT JV would have taken time to put together, which is the case with big deals, but the patience of KAT shareholders has been fully vindicated. There are a number of parallels between KAT and KIBO, including the fact that both announced a placing in October, within just a week of each other ... KIBO's RNS being a week later. The timescale between that KAT placing RNS and the KAT JV was just under four months: if a similar timescale applies to KIBO, then we can expect a KIBO PPA to be announced imminently. 02/10/2019 13:49 UK Regulatory (RNS & others) Katoro Gold PLC Fundraise "Katoro Gold PLC (AIM: KAT), the Tanzanian focused exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that is has raised GBP100,000 (gross), through a placing and subscription of new ordinary shares at 1.0p per share (the 'Fundraise'). 31/1/2020 07:48 | Yaki, Very true, KAT now looking almost as cheap as these. Their other high grade gold assets look super too. The new project though is much closer to production and the cash flow would be transformative there. As KIBO holders we'll benefit from almost 55% of that. It was a cracking RNS and will eventunally be reflected in KIBO's share price throughout 2020. Regards, Ed. | edgein
31/1/2020 07:44 | Well fellas I hope you're all enjoying the company making news of KAT. Only saw it after market close yesterday. Unfortunately it looks like our opportunity to buy KIBO at the bottom has now passed. This news just puts additional pressure on our cap since our NAV is already multiples of the share price due to the very large coal reserves. That new SA project should be a quick start up and a low cost operation from the tailings. An impressive 35 year project life is stunning too. Bring on the multibags throughout 2020. Hopefully we'll hear something about Bordersley some time soon too and really kick things off. Regards, Ed. | edgein
31/1/2020 07:32 | KAT should ignite the furnace under KIBO nicely. Bordersley update to come in hot on its heels would be very nice indeed. | cl0ckw0rk0range

31/1/2020 07:30 | And what is more encouraging is that this is not even one of the main projects, and not even a main project of a minor project - KAT. We just need 1 of these to provide solid fundamentals and rest can nicely built on top. Very quickly | yaki
31/1/2020 06:11 | I know I’m a bit late to the party but just woke up to read the news. Always nice to wake up and find one of your shares has jumped up 50% haha. I’ve got a feeling we’ll be blue again today too. Putting this new news aside. Remember, our net assets are valued at 2.2p alone, without any revenue. Bordersley’s coming online at the end of Q1. This is still massive undervalued and even at 1p is a complete bargain! | moneymaker2015

30/1/2020 18:29 | KAT was spun out of KIBO on 23.5.17, and KIBO owns 94.338M. shares in the company: 02/10/2019 13:49 UK Regulatory (RNS & others) Katoro Gold PLC Fundraise " ... Following the issue of the Financing Shares and Admission, Kibo will be interested in, in aggregate, 94,338,739 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 52.5% of the Company's then issued share capital and will be interested in 1,800,000 Financing Warrants. ... " So today's KAT rise of 1.9p has increased the value of KIBO's stake by £1.792M. And the total value of KIBO's stake in KAT, at a KAT share price of 2.75p, is £2.594M. ... a level from which it could increase strongly as KAT moves forward.
