Zurich Financial Services Group (which includes Eagle Star Life Assurance
Company of Ireland Limited) in the issued ordinary shares and warrants of
Kenmare Resources Plc.  We understand that there are 645,975,249 ordinary shares
and 72,716,992 warrants of Kenmare Resources Plc in issue at 31st December 2005.



I wish to confirm that at the 19th November 2004, the combined shareholdings of
entities in the Zurich Financial Services Group Plc. amounts to 580,000 ordinary
Shares and 3,443,750 warrants in Kenmare Resources plc and this amounts to 0.09%
of the Issued Ordinary Share Capital and 4.736% of Issued warrants. The
