20/7/2021 13:54 | It's a good point aviator makes though, ISAs and SIPPe are a great way to build wealth when you're younger. The 33% CGT in the Republic of Ireland too is an absolute killer. I think I will move over the border or to the mainland U.K. next year. | donegal1997
20/7/2021 13:30 | Theaviator - it's 45% for income in excess of €158k in France. Your friend must be on a good whack but even so wont be paying 70%. I'm in Spain and paying twice as much tax on my pensions than I would in UK. The personal allowance here is not as generous. Top whack here is 47% on €125.9k.EDIT €300k. The other downside is CGT on all gains even lottery wins! No ISA's SIPP's here but I'm happy enough with what I have. Quite happily living here on my state pension and small works pension. I rent a fully furnished and equipped apartment in a good area for much less than a bedsit in a rough area of Brum. Oh and the weather is glorious. | digger2779
20/7/2021 13:08 | You back in KEFI? markets are a bit nervy at the moment need Harry to drop that RNS asap | mick1909
20/7/2021 13:00 | How's about 70% income tax in France!!?! One of our friends who is French couldn't wait to get out... | theaviator
20/7/2021 12:44 | It's always the ones that don't actually live here attack! A bit like arm chair CEOs they always think they can do a better job. I like Boris too. A character and got the job done. He was caught between a rock and a hard place. That snidey little Cummings bloke another matter... | theaviator
20/7/2021 12:38 | Tops, Why do you find it necessary to attack Boris (a man I admire) on a financial thread; worse even than attacking Brexit (which I think is great)? Both attacks add to your mantra "why use ten words when a hundred will do" | goatherd
20/7/2021 11:41 | True goat, but I'm thinking that Harry might have lapsed to maybe a classification on the Aussie exchange. And you have to ask, that if we were meant to be kept in the loop or have worked it out for ourselves, then we would have done so by now | rich1e
20/7/2021 11:05 | Rich1e, Yes, but FTSE100 is not in "some country". | goatherd
20/7/2021 10:48 | He said industrial, But I believe on some countries exchanges miners fall into that category. Either way, I would think that, the possibilities are narrowed by those interested in providing mining finance. Yet it remains, for now, a well kept secret. | rich1e
20/7/2021 10:37 | Can't remember now but did Harry ever say the ftse100 co. Was a miner? Or did he say "Industrial "? Whoever they are, they are investing through their Ethiopian "Branch" spending their Ethiopian cash which it's difficult to get out of the country. | bradley12
20/7/2021 10:06 | Some good points here rich, yeah there's only a handful of miners in the ftse 100 and only Centamin that I can see have ever operated in Ethiopia. It could still be any of the others, we have no real way of knowing. | donegal1997
20/7/2021 10:01 | Whatever we know or don't know about the financing, it would appear that after almost a year the participants are proceeding, none have pulled out, having had ample opportunity to do so. They've also provided Kefi short term finance, if my understanding is correct, not something you'd do on the off-chance. Whatever the delays we have no idea. But I'm thinking that the EG must have had some picture of what the funding proposal was going to look like, as such they too would've had chance to suggest modifications before this stage. It may now be a case of we've waited for you, now you wait for us. If that's the case, then I can't see it going on too long. As Katsy says we don't know the funding partners yet, for those willing to believe a word Harry says, one is 1 billion ftse listed. Those interested in providing mining finance should narrow it down a bit. Anyone any thoughts? Centamin is a possibility for me | rich1e
20/7/2021 09:02 | Sometimes it is called a "tree shake". | goatherd
20/7/2021 08:52 | Valid point Katsy. Lower share price always makes you less confident with news pending. | donegal1997
20/7/2021 08:22 | Donegal, How do you know that? you only have Harry's say so!!! Have you a way of independently verifying this? We really don't know anything more about this deal now then we did when he first muted it. Does anybody know who the partners are, Nope! Do we know what each and every delay was about, Nope! Did Harry miss any payment to his own bank account on any delay, Nope! | katsy
20/7/2021 08:17 | It is confusing how the EG pushed Kefi on hurrying up the finance but have taken so long to approve it. | donegal1997
20/7/2021 08:02 | Now 2p is a target not the base. Any further delay will probably see this hit 1p | katsy
20/7/2021 07:23 | Wonder if the bitcoin fans will by the dip again or we will see a rotation out of Bitcoin into gold? | robjm66
20/7/2021 07:23 | If the words "by the end of Q3" don't appear in the near future, I will eat my hat. | jaylett
19/7/2021 23:48 | Like it, or not, all we holders are dependant on the EG fulfilling its side of the current funding agreement. If, for any reason, they cannot, then we are reliant on some other party to pick up the funding baton and run with it. This should not be a problem given the assets Kefi control, but it will affect the timescale. The EG may not like this, but at least they can look forward to receiving Tax revenues. Just my thoughts. | scrappycat
19/7/2021 21:12 | I really do hope my resolve and not my stupidity shining through!! | bostanli |
