I think because some/many/all have a lot of influence in the Ethiopian government?

:-)

Technology defeats me at times.

Really sounds like Kefi could benefit from dropping the ANS sea anchor. We have lost at least a year because of them and that's before counting the dilution cost. why weren't they kicked out and replaced when they first defaulted last year?

Yes Estseon get the impression the Ethiopians want to make quick progress with the mining industry so kefi is going to have lots of potential partners so could joint venture some of the exploration areas. Harry said work had already started on long lead time items.

Whole zoom thing was not that polished but sometimes that works, less polish less bs just need it to be a bit smoother for old farts like me that used to struggle to set the video recorder.

I imagine that ANS are very keen to participate, but the relatively wealthy individuals who expressed a wish to participate in the ANS funding have, in all likelihood, been affected in some way by the Covid19 virus. The best laid plans etc. Just conjecture, of course, but I doubt that ANS want to miss out.

Thanks Rob.

I don't understand the puzzlement over the government's $20m or the fact that they are spending it. ANS have been faffing us around for so long that perhaps people have forgotten. The government is going to provide the off-site infrastructure required. Road and bridge upgrades and a power connection to the hydroelectric dam, principally, I think.

Interesting that there are a large number of other mining companies streaming in Perhaps we could find some more reliable partners if needed.

Listened to the presentation this morning - talks weren't of high quality, but what is clear is that Ethiopian Government is committed to making mining work...and Kefi is their 'Flagship' project...I think they will make sure it works to show that the country really is a viable place to do business.

I also got the impression that HAA is on pretty good terms with the EG

Overall I felt reassured that this will get done!

Something for those who like to conjecture over a future event?

Why the price monitoring decision, and why retain it for quite a time? The volume prior to the monitoring was hardly anything to write home about.

Remember Kefi is responsible for inaugurating Ethiopia's first, and only, school of mining.

Re: Post 4195 (Robi, from presentation extract)

'TK to be first world class mine for Ethiopia.'

If the EG believe this, who am I to doubt it. Simple, I don't. Also, delighted to see their use of the words 'world class'.

From lse board
My Question regarding the $20 million
Today 11:07
My Question in here was that Harry referred and said about "Government Investment $20 million, its happening"
So I can't see where $20 million project funding is referred to with ANS or the Ethiopian Government or is this an initial payment, I can't see in the past RNS's it refers to $20 million payment.

For lse board
Looks to me that Harry was referring to past investment hxxps://www.kefi-minerals.com/files/presentations/kefi-update-presentation-30october2019.pdf "Now overcome and our Tulu Kapi is the country’s 1st development with Gov’t investing $20M."

It was mentioned too in kefi presentation slides alongside the talking so it will hopefully be made clearer from the context when kefi uploads the presentation to website.

Cybaajak 76 mining companies in exploration though kefi is first a mover. It was said that Ethiopia was late developer in mining sphere but has great potential.

ANS should be replaceable if need be, their involvement probably a lot down to local politics and showing Ethiopian involvement and exploring public Private partnerships but the Ethiopian government not going to hold up their entire mining strategy in advance of an election just for them if it comes down to that.

We have all these discussions here about whether TK will go ahead but seems to be seen as a fait accompli in Ethiopia.

From everything I've heard Harry is well regarded in the mining community - it's just us punters that don't like him lol

I still can't see HOW the EG is going to push a private partnership into taking over the slack from ANS and then, after that, the two African Banks fronting up a solid $180m in BIRR for full finance.

October is just a pipe dream. IF TKGM is one of the front running 4 Companies fighting for pole position, It just goes to show how strenuous and tentative the mining sector in Ethiopia can be IF the venture is a Private Public Partnership.

Also chuck ups to robjm for outstanding work. I was furtively pressing refresh for updates all through that. Well done.
