One should check news from Ethiopia rather than hear news from 2012 (Harry's recent bit).
On the ground:-
Amara, Tigray and Oroma being bombed.
USAID/NGO licences suspended.
Banks have a problem? Harry too?
Claims, too much corruption in Gov't and force being exerted.
No wonder Tim withdrew from commenting.
Even the guy that I thought may be able to sort logistics to the coast, has failed,
yep, corrupt, as royjm66 suggested! Or so it seems?
Of course, rather than defend, you could have made more in defence, RR. and BA.,
just 250 - 400pts between them in one week?
Horses for courses eh? |
My mistake, However Googled / African Finance Corporation
Addis Ababa, 3rd April 2023 – Africa Finance Corporation, the continent's leading infrastructure solutions provider, today announces Ethiopia as its 40th member state – a landmark achievement in the corporation's journey toward ensuring a pragmatic and coordinated approach to infrastructure development and value ...3 Apr 2023
The Ethiopian parliament has ratified membership in the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), which is a regional financial institution that provides funding for infrastructure in Africa |
Wrong AFC waiting on Africa Finance Corporation AFCTA is free trade agreement. |
Scrolled through it very quickly glad to see Harry still got his finger in the proverbial pie |
I think people are starting to get it. Of course the two residents full time tampers (15 years of it) will try and draw in more mug punters. |
(Ethiopia mining)
(Saudi mining) |
Have been here four years at a huge loss can't disagree with your sentiment, still hoping |
Anyone sane knows that these defences of the last decade of missed deadlines / targets / objectives / expectations are demented. The picture that has been painted throughout the history of TK was misleading at best and dishonest at worst. People have bought into those updates and been let down over and over again, yet still some cranks want to spend their days pointlessly arguing semantics. Best ignored. |
You don't keep shareholders onside by continually Bull$hitting. You lose all credibility and nobody believes a word you say. |
GoatherdWendy Durham wrote an excellent article on Kefi and the Arabian Shield back in 2010 just after Kefi peaked at 10p and Pilmer sold his Directors share at a very good profit. He knew it was years off being that value.Regarding Harry I think it is just word salad.I employed people for most of my working life and if they gave me a target or an expectation and kept missing it they were history. If they gave me a hope they didn't keep a job. I couldn't make money on what a salesman hoped to achieve.Harry should not give any indication if he has no idea at all but should tell us. |
Yes, if he ever makes any money by selling precious metals, most of the profits will go towards massive bonuses that he insists on every so often. |
Harry doesn't like Shareholders, I believe he would be happier if Kefi was just private. He does like our money. |
I think the cove might be so far in the hole that a spade is the last thing he needs. |
Think if Harry understood the market and shareholders the company would have put out a Rns this morning. |
October 15, 2024
Kefi Gold and Copper (AIM: KEFI) founder Harry Anagnostaras-Adams says a US$320-million construction loan for the company’s first mine, Tulu Kapi gold mine in Ethiopia, is expected to close shortly, with first production following as soon as late 2025.
“In principle, we’ve broken the back of the financing,” he said last month during the Gold Forum Americas in Colorado Springs. “We expect to close in the next two months completely.” |
Obviously most of you have never run a company. If you run any company, but especially if you run a public company, you have to keep your shareholders onside. If you are not reasonably optimistic you will fail, and they will leave you (i.e., in a public company, sell).
So you choose a suitable form of words, which you use consistently, but are short on promises (particularly for things you cannot control!).
"Hope" is probably too weak. "Expect" is probably too strong. "Target" is mid-range and hence probably quite good. But which word is used is up to the boss. Harry has chosen "Target".
It is not be playing with semantics. It is you lot who are querying Harry's use of words.
My good friend Wendy Durham once said to a mining CEO that she thought all CEO's should go on a course to educate them on how shareholders think. He said he thought that was an excellent idea.
But I don't think he did. |
robj, why are you reporting piffle to this bb?
Go get you spade, I'm sure it is needed! |
(off topic guess fort Knox was empty) |
Goatherd,
You're arguing about semantics now, Harry shouldn't give guidance like this, he should just get on and announce only when the deal is done. |
