Rich1e: Just a few examples of leases being revoked. See the Aussie ones had their leases suddenly revoked and awarded to someone else.
I seem to recall one involved a company Freddie Flintoff was associated with.

Middle of election campaign would be embarrassing for mining minister to seem to back track would be accused of giving foreign miners a easy ride after talking tough.

Best result now probably no more statements or RNS from anybody on the issue and rapid progress on TK.

If the announcement was just a rouge official with his own agenda, why hasn't it immediately been squashed by the Mining Ministry? What possible upside is there for the Government to allow the destabilisation of a key infrastructure project, unless that's what they want.

I'm amazed people are buying on the back of it. There should be alarm bells going off all over the place. It's Africa ffs and doings are afoot.

Rich1e. Sadly taxlossstone's scenario is a common one, and usually where a big player has entered the fray, and greed never stops companies.

The sh+t would really hit the fan though if EG cited a failure by Kefi, or contradicted what shareholders have been told.

Its all well and good issuing an RNS today, but that RNS was couched in doublespeak and if that's shared with previous communications, then someone could be in some real trouble both here and abroad.

Yep I’m with you Dee Dee you’ve got to speculate to accumulate! . The fundamentals of the company hasn’t changed (I think) so I’m still holding for well over a year now. Investing / playing in the emerging markets isn’t without risks ...I know , but the rewards are still well achievable IMHO ..only time will tell I guess etc etc etc

In which case I’d say good luck building an economy on mining, because no one else will touch them with a barge pole. Exploration licences? let you experienced miners spend millions with no guarantee of success.

It sounds as if were in agreement pp, you would put the for sale sign up before you lost the license. A warning being a warning and not immediate loss, you asses the situation and tell the EG that you’re looking to offload to an experienced operator, quicker more efficient route to production for them.

Rich1e. you couldn't sell it if you don't have the license.

These days though, providing Kefi has been straight with shareholders, there is recourse to international courts, and even countries can be forced to pay up....but it all depends what if anything comes out of the woodwork.

My thoughts are, if there is a warning to be issued, then maybe RAB Capitol will strongly suggest that if shareholder value isn’t going to be delivered by TK funding, then the for-sale sign goes up sharpish, before they kiss goodbye to £5 million quid.

Am I concerned, yes of course, as any shareholder should be.

The main concern is the RNS, which might be a truth inasmuch as they haven't received a letter yet, but where one may be on its way judging by other comments.

Likewise 'know of no reason' or similar 'not aware of reason' 'no recollection' etc., which is often the politician speak for 'I know, but I have to keep it plausible deniability'.

Bought a few more today, so I'm certainly not a shorter, but of course I'm concerned, as I've seen many a license revoked, whether for good reason or not and if it comes out of the woodwork that shareholders were not being given accurate information....

Having been waiting and waiting for finance if the delay is attributed to Kefi....well let's not go there.

I do hope Harry hasn't been 'economical' with the truth, as it will bite hard, plus make him personally liable without protection of limited company.

One thing this warning business does clarify i think.... it would seem that the requirement for local investors ref March webinar..... is not a requirement of EG, but something more to do with a shortfall from one of the other lenders.

Have you read somewhere this is how long that they’ve been given, or is it something that you’ve dispassionately conjured up? Which is it?

Andysand,

With respect I do not agree with "That part is a fact".

It is alleged, by a newspaper reporter that an anonymous official said it.

Now even British civil servants sometimes get it wrong - and as for reporters - - -.

In the report in Mining they did NOT say it.

I am NOT saying it was not said - but I am saying it might not have been said.

Anyway if it puts a rocket under Harry's tail so much the better.

As a follower of this company for years (but no longer a holder), I can read this news dispassionately. Kefi will be sent a warning that their license will be revoked unless...That part is a fact. So the only question is this. Will this force Kefi to somehow get this endless finance saga completed? Or will it show that KEFI is incapable of getting the finance sorted? If you believe that KEFI will not get the finance over the line in the next month (as I do), then there is no reason to stay invested here as doom is looming. And if you believe that KEFI will have all this sorted out in a month, then riches await you. Which is it?

Taxloss - said son of Covid fame (he's got the long version but doing ok and working from home a couple of hours a day under doctor's orders) is notorious in our family, and no doubt beyond, in that he can't make a decision until he really has to.

I mean the most basic, shall we go to the beach or the park tomorrow type of dilemma!

We probably all know someone like that - suppose Harry is such a prevaricator??!!

Decision, decisions...

Anyway, whatever happened with the Saudi rubber stamp? What's the odds Harry hid it from them, lol.
