17/12/2015 12:15 | Must admit, after being here for years, I hadn't expected this recent strength in the share price Now I have a problem, do I hold or do I sell. | nigthepig

15/12/2015 16:29 | Indeed it is Skinny. Too good to resist, so I've top sliced a few. A bit more fire power for tomorrow. Do we know what time the Fed announcement is due? It could be a very interesting day. | lord gnome

14/12/2015 12:15 | from CompoundIncome's daily blog (which is well worth signing up for)... Meanwhile we had a disposal of the national network assets from KCOM the Hull based telecom operator. This has raised £90m for them and pays down most of their debt. I estimate this will be roughly neutral as the £4m net cost of using the network going forward will roughly match the interest cost savings. However as they say it does give them capacity to accelerate investment in their plans to transform the group, without the need for any material increase in debt, while at the same time as providing shareholders with a clear medium term dividend commitment. The shares had been suspiciously firm in the run up to this and have now moved to the top of their trading range over the last few years where they now also appear over bought in the short term. Thus it will be interesting to see if this deal and perhaps details of their investment plans can prompt a further re-rating, although I note this is very much like a sale and leaseback deal that a retailer could undertake and as I don't see it enhancing earnings I'm not sure it really changes the story that dramatically. Thus given it is on a fairish looking 14x with limited growth and a low EBIT /EV yield the main attraction remains the 6% or so yield which has been growing strongly but is scheduled to be at least maintained at 6p after the current year as indicated by the Company in their interims recently, So on that basis I would be tempted to suggest locking in some profits up here, although maybe I could be missing something here. But worth noting if you are in need of income the shares are due to go XD the 1.97p interim on 24th December. | speedsgh
14/12/2015 08:40 | great news | neilyb675
14/12/2015 08:24 | Also Break out | toffeeman
14/12/2015 07:53 | Yes, very good news, and I guess part of the reason why the share price held up well against general market falls. | rcturner2
14/12/2015 07:52 | So now we know why the share price rose on Friday! Nice deal. In the books for £48 millions and sold for £90. Cuts debt to £13 millions and secures our dividends. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts this morning. | lord gnome
14/12/2015 07:45 | Look at this mornings news. The sale will bring in 90 million squids equal to nearly 20% of current market cap. Perhaps they will let us have some of it. | irenekent
12/12/2015 14:08 | A good performance on Friday when the market was in free fall. Why should this have become popular all of a sudden? I can't think that a single broker recommendation has changed market sentiment. | lord gnome
04/12/2015 15:42 | looks to be breaking through yearly high | notmatthew
03/12/2015 10:12 | I've sold half mine today. I'll keep the remainder while the dividend is still healthy. | rcturner2
01/12/2015 08:47 | Thanks skinny. That would do very nicely. | lord gnome

30/11/2015 13:18 | Thanks, would love to hold this for 11 years from here! Admire your patience. | rcturner2
30/11/2015 13:13 | RCTurner2 - good luck with your investment. Has always been a steady share since I invested here 11 years ago at 55p. Not prolific but a nice little earner. | nigthepig
30/11/2015 13:01 | Revenue and EBITDA up 3%. I call that ok, sorry. I am a holder here, this is actually my biggest holding, put in £40k when it slipped back into the 80s. | rcturner2
30/11/2015 12:46 | RCTurner2 - I would call these very positive results, hardly just ok. | nigthepig
30/11/2015 10:01 | Agreed, may well be a safer place for some of my funds currently sat in retail (ORB) bonds...? Might switch more money here if we get any sort of pullback. | wirralowl
30/11/2015 09:44 | I agree Lord Gnome - not the most exciting investment, but the yield should bolster the price in the near term. | skinny |
