thanks . I see copper price now just under 300 and concerned that there might not be a recovery in near future . Gold price came off a lot too .

coincidentally I just noticed NMC today and it has again stormed to a new all time high and NOR situation ! wish I had not focused on mining stocks as stocks like NMC seem to be more promising .

Difficult to follow the behaviour of certain stocks these days. Some start weak and finish strongly while some do the opposite.
Yesterday for example KAZ started with a weaker note but finished strongly. Let's hope this will be replicated today.

fuji99 - I agree that buying in opening auction can be dangerous but in my favourite stock, s32 , it often pays off as lead market is OZ and easy to see what is a fair price - did not work today though and I have a small paper loss at present ! ( smile )
I have DMA using CFDs .

arja - It always takes a while before buying/selling & closing settles down to leave the trend takes its course. This is why one should never buy or sell at the start of the market.

I think there are shorters trapped trying to get out as safer as possible thus why KAZ is "held" a bit this morning compared to others. But within 1/2 hour, things will move sharply upwards.

arja copper will not grow up in a straight line, a tad harsh to say it is showing no signs of recovery when it is just off a multi year high.

copper price still showing no sign of recovery and sadly KAZ might struggle to hold up
until it does . Mining stocks showing a mixed performance so far and surprising the FTSE is square after the rampant dow last night !

But there was this new CFO news and they will always find a way to "distort" inventories to suit their needs for example tomorrow especially if China numbers show they need more copper and aluminium ...

I think copper price dropped sharply on friday as copper inventories were well up . Chartwise KAZ stills looks OK .

Everyday they find "a way" to drop it or raise it.
Everyday has its own story engineered to make anything drop or rise, thus why patience is key.
Now if one looks at the disasters around requiring so much construction and repairs, how come metals would drop ?
The same applies to oil. But everything is linked to speculative "market assessment" which changes from week to week according to their shorts or longs ...

patience will NOT help if the copper price does not recover and hovering at 304.5 at present . I hope you are right !

Just a bit of patience. IMO this will move to 850 - 900 range this week.
Poaching a good CFO is not easy ...

slight recovery in copper price which fell to 301 after UK close on friday .Now just over 304 and let's hope it can kick on a bit !

With electric cars becoming a "MUST" in China - resulting in doubling copper consumption - adding so many disasters requiring huge repairs, copper and other metals will be in strong demand for 2017 and beyond.
