Not impressed by the news re - placing shares @ 205p about 7% below the share price to raise 5.6m pounds. And also increase the bank facility by the same amount.

I have had some concerns that management could become a tad trigger happy with acquisitions, and I don't think this will help.

Managed to sell my holdings for a decent profit on the news.

Good luck to holders

Research note from Edison previous post

On valuation they can see KBT trading on a forward PE for 2012 of 10 which would equal 282p.

Welcome Saucepan and envirovision, KBT do seem to be setting up for a strong performance in 2012 imv.

Agree the Zulu books are still the best I have read. Lucky for me that I read them first.

As good a statement as we could hope for imo.

Nice to see you back here saucepan. KBT is a dream stock to hold with its fundamentals and technical characteristics.

ic2/PILO124 - The Zulu principal and Beyond the Zulu principal are still the two best investment books out there. To put it bluntly i wouldnt be here today without them!

Back long here. Nice acquisition yesterday, solid statement today, and the Zulu characteristics and value are manifest. I also like the technical set-up. KBT looks as if it is on the rise again after healthy consolidation.

Statement looks strong and they sound very confident going forward. It sounds like they are signing an increasing number of contracts, could be the cross selling opportunities taking hold.

Read The Zulu Principle about 20 years ago, very good, (still got it).
Priciples still hold good XPP and IDH just 2 examples.

Given that we are now in 2011/2012 FY, CURRENT year forecast eps 28p, growth rate 18%, p/e less than 8, PEG 0.4.
Anyone seen 2013 forecast?

Hi cfro, I really enjoyed reading The Intelligent Investor, I felt much of the content I had read before. But I guess other authors have used the ideas in their books from Benjamin Graham. The informatrion on looking for companies with positive NCAV will be of use, and I loved the example of National Presto Industries, which proves there are always great opportunities available.

My favourite investment books are still The Zulu Principle followed by Super Stocks.

Well done PHILO124. A trading statement to look forward to in the next couple of weeks.

IC2 - How are you getting on with reading Intelligent Investor BTW?

I love many quotes made throughout the book but this is one i like a lot........" Perhaps the aggressive investor should start with the low multipier' idea, but add other quantitative and qualitative requirements thereto in making up his portfolio." Page 166, end of paragraph, chapter 7 Portfolio policy for the enterprising investor: the positive side.

In other words, find a stock on a low PE then maybe add a high growth rate, then maybe strong cashflow, then maybe strong relative strength etc.....Then you end up with a nice cheap Zulu like KBT! :-)

Agreed ic2, lovely little earnings enhancing acquisition. I dont like to see too many either but i do get the impression here that management do have a clear direction for our company. A proper re-rating will surely come eventually.

Good to see a nice quite board here too! ;-)

Looks like a smart earnings enhancing acquisition, plus cross selling opportunities with the customer base of Matalan, JJB Sports, Littlewoods, Holland & Barratt and the National Trust.

I don't like to see to many acquisitions, but I like these small earning enhanding acquisitions.

It would be rude not to make this acquisition imo.

This is holding up really well in what is otherwise very weak markets overall. Very pleased thus far and most days this seems to attract small amounts of buying, with more buying again today.

Trading statement due in next couple of weeks.

Still extremely cheap. Cannacord have EPS fo YE 2012 of 29.5p, so that puts KBT on a forward PE of only 7.6.
