Jup seems to have really struggled to join in with the recent market rally amongst financials. I would be interested to hear people's opinion as to whether they feel it might be being held back by market manipulation ahead of activity, or is it fundamentally flawed and this level is the new normal? Thanks

Admittedly I'm no expert here but just wondering if the sell off and share price fall is overdone here? Dividend cover was 1.85 last year and they had record AUM of £60.3 as recently as July 21. Got to be tough trying to even just maintaining that in current market conditions when everybody is running for the hills? Just putting that beside previous AUM's of £58.7B at final report of 2020 and 42.8B at 2019. Is the recent trading update of 55.3B AUM that bad and warrant the share price falls? Trying to find a competitor to compare over the same period and would welcome any replies. Aviva Investors reported a 5% reduction in AUM compared to previous year in their trading update over the same period. That would appear to be market sentiment - which is also reflected on this board right now. I've got a small investment here sitting on a loss but may look to add from dividends elsewhere. With the yield currently looking almost 10% at this price I'm thinking a year or two of compounding may offset the share price decline nicely. There are other financial companies / insurers / banks with similar share price trends at the moment.

Another article which hints they are vulnerable

At the end Jupiter make a statement that they have a clear strategy and will continue to update the market on their progress. The latest update hardly updated the market on their progress.

The Jupiter Merlin portfolios have done quite well, and are highly regarded. They are expensive and that is Jupiter's problem, the world has changed...

In 3 months they have lost 10% of assets.

I am surprised this is not down by more.

This is one of those shares that looks like a value play but is a value trap.

I am not over the moon with Jupiter management, any chance of a bid coming in if the down trend continues.

Keep checking in here, it almost impressive how they have managed to deliver net outflows for so long.
Not clear what the future holds for these conventional asset managers.
I guess you could try and trade this if it drops back to the 160 area.

Thats me out for a 20% loss. Divi bound to be cut. Not holding for (possible) takeover. Might be back when the dust settles.

Low 180's looking very likely Dope based on this morning's update. My worst performer in 2022.

That is not at all supported by their cash flow statement.

Why wouldn't jup issue an umcovered dividend? M&G had EPS below 4p and has just gone Ex 12.2p dividend and is buying back £500 million of own shares.
Fund managers like CLIG JUP MNG all have loads of free cash flow which is why they can maintain large sustainable dividen payments. Free cash flow is more important than earnings for an established fund management group.

LG, I held JUP in the past and still follow here.

I wouldn't say for certain that the dividend is "as safe as anything". A dividend cut is certainly a non trivial possibility here as the cover is a bit thin.

For example the stocko forecast for eps is 19p/20p going forward. I can't see them paying an uncovered dividend.

Came on board last week (9th March) at 184.5p. Locking in a 9.2% yield that looks as safe as anything these days. It was just looking 'silly cheap'.

At 190p the yield is 9%. JUP go Ex 9.1p div on 21st April. Subject to the FTSE350 remining at current levels, I'm anticipating a rise to 220p by 20th April.

Just picked some up in my ISA. Good results. Outflows disappointing but new business is generating strong inflows and could outweigh the outflows in 2022. The business is going the right way and the stock looks cheap so picked some up
