Going to be a pretty fast 25% for this instrument type coming |
On 14 February 2025, the Bank of Russia Board of Directors decided to keep the key rate at 21.00% per annum. Current inflationary pressures remain high. Domestic demand growth is still outstripping the capabilities to expand the supply of goods and services. Concurrently, the cooling of lending activity has become more pronounced, and households’ propensity to save is increasing. According to the Bank of Russia’s estimates, the achieved tightness of monetary conditions creates the necessary prerequisites for resuming disinflation processes and returning inflation to the target in 2026.
According to the Bank of Russia’s forecast, given the monetary policy stance, annual inflation will decline to 7.0–8.0% in 2025 from the 12.1% in 2024 Q4, return to 4.0% in 2026 and stay at the target further on.
The Russian economy grew by 4.1% in 2024, which was slightly higher than the Bank of Russia forecast in October. This is mainly due to higher growth in domestic demand than expected. |
Trump is saying he would like to invite Russia to re-join the G7 to become the G8 again. In reply Russia said they would not re-join the G8, much prefer the G20.
This make perfect sense for Russia as many of the G20 countries are not from the West. |
The MOEX Russia index surged to the 3,220 mark in February, its highest since May of last year and in line with the strong momentum for other Russian assets amid expectations that Russia’s war with Ukraine may be approaching its end.
US President Trump held a call with Russian President Putin and signalled that the US will mediate talks for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in their war.
Additionally, the lenient rhetoric with concessions for Russia by US authorities backed expectations that Washington may remove sanctions and reintroduce Russian capital markets into the global financial system, which would raise exports and trigger an aggressive inflow of foreign funds into the Moscow Exchange.
Gazprom rallied over 70% since testing record lows in November of last year, while Sberbank, Rosneft, and Lukoil also traded within 6-month highs.
After an 8% rise yesterday, Gazprom is up another 1% to day. |
Quelle surprise
Zelensky's innings coming to a swift end & so too the war |
At the up and coming Munich Security Conference Trump has said he'll be having meetings first with China then with Russia over nuclear weapons treaties. |
Will add a tick above yesterday on next run
The open was sweet spot bull |
Ming da Merciless says, the work is done. Can hold. it's going up. May not look done. It is |
Putin's Russia is no military threat to the EU or UK, anybody who believes Russia is a military threat is just showing a tiny little mind filled with fear and ignorance. |
...one clear outcome from the Russia-Ukraine conflict
is that the EU & the UK must step up massively their spending on defence & their defence capability
since Putin's Russia is clearly a real military threat & could easily decide to invade another European company, perhaps one of the Baltic countries.
----
Everything is easier with hindsight of course. Did Ukraine make a mistake giving up its nuclear missiles ? Although perhaps not very useful, if Ukraine had fired a nuke at Russia it might have just caused an array of nukes from Russia. |
Looks like someone got triggered. Reminds me of the women with lots of piercings and pink hair who are shown a picture of Donald Trump. Down ticked for to much Estrogen rage!!! lol |
Keep posting please loganair :-) |
Log you have so much faith in those dividends sitting in an account waiting for Jema shareholders. Putin has stripped companies such as Gazprom of all their cash to provide cash for his war machine. If sanctions are lifted he will be even worst. Russia needs a regime change otherwise nothing will change |
Western leaders ‘in a stupor’ after Putin-Trump call, unaccustomed to a simple polite conversation – Lavrov
In the past four years threats and pejoratives became the language of Western diplomacy
Russian Foreign Minister hopes Trump reminds everyone how real diplomacy works |
Still a bit of work to do but a nice minimum to follow if gets out, with primary t a good % |
If Europes time is over then Russia never even made it to the party. Putin & Trump are a pair of grifters who look out for themselves.
I still think we will get fleeced and get nothing back. |
Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president said "Europe had not been warned of the Putin-Trump call or consulted about its content."
"It shows its real role in the world", he said. "Europe's time is over." |
bitgold - remember the Film Love Actually and what the U.S. President said to the British Prime Minister....seems to me in real life all very true.
Sadly British Prime Ministers in real life haven't got the Balls of the Prime Minister in the film to basically tell the President to take a running jump. |
News today is all very, very interesting. Clearly the UK and EU aren't happy about being bypassed and it suggests the special relationship isn't considered very special any more. I could imagine Hungary and Poland getting a bit of their pre-ww2 territory back along with the gas pipeline, but hard to see what's in it for the UK? |
