05/8/2020 00:48 | Maybe India as an alternative trading partner to China argument will give JII some upside LL | loss-leader
21/7/2020 09:54 | but this stock just keeps rising albeit in a gentle fashion and chart looks good saying more to come . | arja
02/6/2020 17:51 | India’s credit rating cut to lowest investment grade: Moody’s Investors Service has downgraded India’s credit rating to Baa3 with negative outlook, citing growing risks that Asia’s third-largest economy will face a prolonged period of slower growth amid rising debt. “The decision to downgrade India’s ratings reflects Moody’s view that the country’s policymaking institutions will be challenged in enacting and implementing policies which effectively mitigate the risks of a sustained period of relatively low growth, significant further deterioration in the general government fiscal position and stress in the financial sector,” the ratings agency said. It has also revised its current fiscal year (April 2020 to March 2021) GDP estimate for India to four percent contraction against zero percent growth projected earlier, citing a shock from the Covid-19 pandemic-related lockdown measures. S&P said last week that the country’s economy will shrink by five percent in the current fiscal year. India’s economic growth in the March quarter slowed to an 11-year low at 3.1 percent. Some 122 million Indians were forced out of jobs last month alone, the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy said on Monday, adding that the unemployment rate in May rose to 23.48 percent as a result of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. | loganair
29/4/2020 10:43 | Are tiny blood clots a more predominant cause of cv death than previously thought? Turmeric being a powerful blood thinner could be helping India fight China-19. | velvetide
07/4/2020 12:21 | ANII looks the better play imv. JII too much cyclical exposure for me. | essentialinvestor
07/4/2020 10:37 | Took some more this morning. Upside here versus developed markets and wider emerging market funds looks worth the risk. Was such a bonus being able to cash in close to NAV only a few weeks ago! | 1nf3rn0
24/3/2020 09:36 | ''' azalea23 Mar '20 - 12:32 - 2134 of 2135 India and Bangladesh will be the next two countries who will become another Italy, once the virus takes hold there. ''' imo demographics (and diet ?) could counter this argument, however % smokers not favourable (although again this may be dunted by demographics which appears always a strong factor) | velvetide
23/3/2020 17:58 | May be, however how much is already in the price may be the question?. | essentialinvestor
23/3/2020 12:32 | India and Bangladesh will be the next two countries who will become another Italy, once the virus takes hold there. | azalea
23/3/2020 09:58 | Time to be brave? Another 15% drop today, >25% discount to NAV | 1nf3rn0
11/3/2020 15:25 | HL confirmed the tender price received was £8.0434. The price i calculated below was after costs. | sludgesurfer
05/3/2020 13:11 | I tendered all of my 1400 shares. I expected to only be able to sell around 40% but was in fact able to sell all but 3. I received £8.025 per share from HL on the 28th. I paid £3.69 for them back in 2014. Decent return but far from the best in the sector. Fair play to the board - they set a standard against the benchmark with a well defined penalty should they not meet it which they honoured. I wish all my ITs did so. | sludgesurfer
03/3/2020 13:31 | Heck - Share Centre have taken all of mine at 804p. That's a result! | nk104
27/2/2020 09:02 | India not as reliant on China as some other countries and only 3 cases of CV declared so far. I imagine NAV will drop 10% or more fairly swiftly if an outbreak occurs in a major town or city. Anyway, there are bargains galore (for longterm investors) for reinvesting tender funds once receipted. Probably pays to drip feed until the worst is over. | 1nf3rn0
27/2/2020 07:45 | I wrote the above assuming the Indian market like everywhere had fallen significantly. But looking it says the NAV was 782p last night. How on earth has it held up so well ? | graham1ty
27/2/2020 07:41 | Getting 804p feels like manna from heaven in these markets ! If the timetable had been a couple of weeks later, JII would have been selling into a horrible market, getting horrible prices, and the NAV might have been 650p...... | graham1ty
24/2/2020 10:46 | I’m going to hold off a little longer just in case India does catch a dose of the virus. I can’t think of a harder country in which to try and contain an outbreak if one does happen. | cpgrang
24/2/2020 10:21 | Yes, very lucky ! It is a 17% premium at the current price. I wonder how many will just buy back in below 700p ? Either get more shares than you had before be reinvesting the lot, or buy back the same number and keep the difference as a “dividend̶ | graham1ty
24/2/2020 08:41 | The whack shares are taking today on coronavirus worries makes beig able to cash in here at a good price even more fortunate. | 1nf3rn0
21/2/2020 14:14 | I tendered my full holding of 2,450 shares and have 5 still showing as ordinary shares held and 2,445 as "Assented Tender Offer Accepted". I'll see what happens when the proceeds hit next Friday. And yes, I'm with HL. | cpgrang
21/2/2020 12:52 | Cpgrang, as post above, I am not sure you have only 5 shares left. I think that HL ( or wherever yrs sat) moved most into a side account, pending the result of the tender. They might have left a few shares ( ie 5 ) sitting on the original account, just to keep that open ? Speculation, but I cannot see anywhere that anyone would get more than 25% + 44% of the rest bought out | graham1ty
21/2/2020 12:37 | Happy with the price. Will reinvest some today ahead of receiving proceeds. | 1nf3rn0
21/2/2020 12:15 | 804.3p tender offer price confirmed, v 810 latest NAV. Glad I tendered all mine (but frustrated to be left with just 5 shares for some bizarre reason). May reinvest at 7.23. | cpgrang |
