09/10/2009 14:11 | Apparently it's true, sportbilly: the RNS stated 9.7p but also said this was per 100 shares; it seems the division (by 100) is being overlooked... | pbracken
09/10/2009 14:08 | 9.7p??? surely not..... | sportbilly1976
09/10/2009 14:05 | "What everyone is too polite to say is, if a mug wants to buy and someone cleverer wants to sell, well, that's markets for you." Worth saying twice for the benefit of some on this bb. | pbracken
09/10/2009 14:03 | I've been told that PIs (bless 'em) have not read the RNS correctly; they think that they're getting 9.7p per share, not 0.97p per share. Why would they think that? | pbracken
09/10/2009 14:02 | pbracken... and the last sentence of the Times article links nicely to my post 3247.... holding increase of 1% results in 500k being bought by pi's. | sportbilly1976
09/10/2009 13:59 | "What everyone is too polite to say is, if a mug wants to buy and someone cleverer wants to sell, well, that's markets for you." Er, I've been saying that for days now.... Thanks sportbilly. | pbracken

09/10/2009 13:47 | Intteresting article in the Times yesterday: "Something odd is going on at Jessops, the camera retailer, which is effectively bust. A refinancing proposed last week will hand almost everything over to the banks. Only £100,000 is being retained for shareholders, or only 0.09p a share. Yet the shares are trading at 1½p and it seems there are a lot of retail punters buying them. One smaller stockbroker is concerned. "Loads of retail buyers think they are buying Jessops, but in fact are buying a sort of cash shell worth 0.09p." The shares were popular with private investors because it is a well-known name in the high street. Some are wondering whether the situation is the sort of "disorderly or false market" that would require them to be suspended. The London Stock Exchange and the Financial Services Authority are both aware of this. "Our belief is that the market is orderly, otherwise we would've suspended it," the LSE says. "There's been a very full disclosure by the relevant parties as to what the situation is for shareholders," the FSA says. What everyone is too polite to say is, if a mug wants to buy and someone cleverer wants to sell, well, that's markets for you." | sportbilly1976

08/10/2009 15:30 | 150000 JSP shares = 470 Tesco shares I bought 2500 Tesco shares today - strange nobody commented. Just get rid of your shares - and move on - no sentiment in the market - the bookies do not pay out on losers and this race is over apart from a few shorters speculating in small beer money. | 25babies
