Similar situation on PRD (Predator).......trolls saying PRD would never find gas........well hopeully in the coming days the MOU-3 drill result will prove them all wrong and PRD will have hit some decent gas pay.

Always remember, most of the time the trolls troll based on personal feelings, not on actual company specifics.

For JOG it was always against TRAP and then after the name change against JOG....and all was due to their personal feelings - not the companies prospects.

Question is - how much will labour's plans to wreck the oil industry affect JOG? Short, medium, and long term?

With Sir Keirs comments and a General Election as early as spring next year who's going to be interested in this ?
Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see the NEO deal off imo.

Keir Starmer pledges to end North Sea exploration and let areas profit from clean power - BBC this morning.

Clueless, totally clueless.

Extremely reckless for the UK's energy security and extremely expensive for its electorate - UK O&G Operators will simply redirect their investment dollars to the very people the UK will be buying more O&G from and who produce it a far higher carbon intensity.

With 75% O&G industry windfall taxes and a proposed policy to ban all further exploration, the UK is clearly being run by a highly dangerous political class who are determined to lead the world with its Net Zero policy lunacy(while most of the rest of the world pay lip service to it), regardless as the guaranteed impoverishment of its citizens.

Keir Starmer pledges to end North Sea exploration and let areas profit from clean power - BBC today

'Labour will end new North Sea oil and gas exploration, but help communities profit from clean power projects, Sir Keir Starmer is to pledge.

He will also announce a publicly-owned green energy company based in Scotland. Sir Keir is under pressure from environmentalists and the oil industry over the scale and pace of Labour's planned transition to cleaner power.

Labour has confirmed it would "not grant licences to explore new fields" in the North Sea, a momentous shift for a sector which supports 200,000 UK jobs, including 90,000 in Scotland, according to trade body Offshore Energies UK.

Offshore Energy UK's chief executive David Whitehouse told the BBC that Labour's plans to move away from the reliance of North Sea oil and gas "would create a cliff edge". deterring investment and heightening the risk of energy shortages.

Mr Whitehouse said 180 of the North Sea's 283 active oil and gas fields were due to close by 2030, and new licences were "essential" or production would "plummet" and "the UK and its skilled workforce will be exposed".'
