18/9/2017 19:43 | Obviously you are more knowledgeable than Statoil! | irishlass2
18/9/2017 19:35 | Chasing the oil rarely works and sounds more like they are hitting the edge of a filed which will have poor flow and low volume before it's depleted . I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up on this side track . It could be a disconnected pocket too which will only get determined on flow testing which means an initial hit soon becomes failure . Anyone with knowledge of the area will know this is a big risk and puts the odds a lot lower for success. Probably why the share price won't move much. 18/9/2017 16:37 | The Verbier prospect is along the northern flank of the Buchan High. Well 20/5a-10Y, drilled by Talisman in 2006, penetrated 46ft (14m) of oil-bearing Upper Jurassic sandstone within the Kimmeridge Clay Formation, the "J64 Sands". This well lies along strike from the planned 2017 Verbier exploration well. So I think this means that the J64 sands are getting deeper from the Talisman well towards Verbier and were deeper than expected and below the OWC? It would be nice to know how thick they found those sands at Verbier and how far they are below the OWC, that OWC depth surely known from the old well. | rogerlin
18/9/2017 14:38 | The 20/05b-13 Verbier well was located to the north west of the Buchan field and targeted an Upper Jurassic turbidite fan system identified on 3D. JOG believed that the edge of Verbier could have been tagged by the Talisman operated 20/5a-10Y well which produced 4804bopd and 2.6mmscfd from Late Jurassic sands of an equivalent age to the sands in Verbier. The prospect was a combination structural/stratigra | oilretire

18/9/2017 11:44 | Thanks Cash. At least we know that Statoil think this is worth going after. | rogerlin
18/9/2017 11:37 | People trapped at 90/100. Never learn | jayrh
18/9/2017 11:12 | Plop clueless as ever LOOOOOL | kirk 6
18/9/2017 10:38 | I guess another important point from the first well - 'found Upper Jurassic sands deeper than anticipated' So initial modelling off slightly, need to look at the sands at the original expected depth and for whatever reason the suggestions of hydrocarbons from the logs have meant it's worthwhile to do so. Still won't make any difference, they could find the next Forties and it still won't be enough to recover my TRAP punt!! :-) | oilretire
18/9/2017 10:34 | No mate not clueless at all made a fair profit going up from 40p-75p. Now short this is going to fall fast now today news is no news. Fair value 35p casj | kirk 6

18/9/2017 09:17 | rogerlin, From the presentation, the 'updip' does not look like the original 10y discovery intercept. However, as the area is charged, I think they have an inkling the accumulation may well be present in those sands but updip and smaller field than prognosed. Clearly, something is scratching their heads here; "the wireline log data from the initial exploration well, received late on 12 September 2017, has now been evaluated by the P.2170 Joint Venture partnership led by the operator Statoil (U.K.) Limited ("Statoil"). Indications of the potential for hydrocarbons to be present in a smaller accumulation up dip of the 20/05b-13 Verbier exploration well cannot be ruled out" I wonder what these 'indications' are? Cash | cashandcard
18/9/2017 08:52 | Is "updip" towards the previous 20/5a-10Y Talisman well (which is about 4km east of the present drill I think)? | rogerlin
18/9/2017 08:51 | Interesting, if Statoil merit it worthwhile, I'm happy with that. At best, it'll be a small accumulation, worth little to Statoil, but worth far more to JOG. Of course, the likelihood is a P&A. Cash | cashandcard
18/9/2017 08:47 | 150 by the end of play.. They wouldn't waste money and time on a dud.. | letmepass
18/9/2017 08:27 | Should easily settle above £1. | irishlass2
18/9/2017 08:27 | Should easily settle above £1. | irishlass2
18/9/2017 08:08 | Jeez, Statoil are calling the shots, so whereas yes they may take this fortuitous opportunity to place shares, it won't be down to any sort of 'conspiracy' on JOG's part. | oilretire
18/9/2017 08:05 | Placement that's what this sidetrack is about maybe... | jayrh
18/9/2017 07:38 | 125 clearly | tmmalik |
