Hi tenapen

Thanks for the reply and I did have a look back.

How old is Andrew Grant, I can not find it mentioned in the bios on their website?

Superb returns on capital etc and great dividend yield. Growth forecasts seem a bit pedestrian even though he was optimistic at results time and major one off costs seem to have ended. Doesn't look like they will get the benefit from higher interest on the cash held any time soon though.

I can not find the amount allocated to share buybacks, any idea? Otherwise I am tempted to add to my small holding but hoping that one day he will agree to sell at a price 50% higher than the current sp!

All the best.

Hi tiswas,
If you read back a few pages, a few posters gave Thier views on Jim becoming a t/o target. My opinion is still, I doubt it & I hope not.

Regards.

Does anyone who knows this company think that someone like AJ Bell might pick them up?

I know it would have to be an agreed bid because of the Grant's holding but on such a low pe to Bell must be earnings enhancing for them and opportunity to strip out costs on top?

This ShareSoc blog highlights price increases at Share (fairly modest). Others such as II have also introduced price increases. JIM introduced price increases (think it was about 10%) at the halfway stage (roughly) last year on the Model B stuff. Not sure whether there would be an impact on the retail side. Seems industry wide to re-establish margins. Should hopefully benefit our H1.

Re Woodford.

Im far from clever and have not read much details of the falls in his funds. But, i have read the headlines where he has downed his own funds and the investments in them. Even an idiot like me would have thought about selling .... to a lose ! if the top man is having a dig. A classic 'Ratner' moment !.

No jim DRIP as yet.

Hargreaves hasn't come out of the Woodford scandal. Savers would be better off in Jarvis ISA with x-o.co.uk than Hargreaves charges and not get poor advice from a non advisory platform.

For the record, the JIM cash dividend was credited into my x-o account this morning (pay day as announced). May take longer for DRIPS of course.

The only thing I don't like dealing with Jarvis, is the time its takes to credit your account with dividend and bond payment. Very slow is my own personally experience.

The first bit of 'extra work' for a long time !.

Personally I'm concerned about the next Beaufort Securities. This is my reasoning for using Jarvis as they seem to play safe. I don't think acquisition growth through debt is safe, and the reason I closed my ii account is that they had taken over my TD Waterhouse Isa. Just hope I'm in the right boat.

If you don't mind me saying, you might be better avoiding story stocks and sticking to similar good companies like this. I too would be disappointed to see Jarvis acquired. It's a very difficult stock to replace with something better in my view.

I would also be gutted if Jarvis was taken out. Its the rock that gives me the confidence that if my stupid blue sky punts go bust (they normaly do) i will always have my largest holding and growing, JIM.

Another nice Dividend / DRIP

Weldone Jarvis.

I'm assuming II, as they are backed by JC Flowers, are looking to gobble up assets, fashion a marketing story and flip it onto the market looking for an AJ Bell type multiple (44x forecast 9/19 P/E). The market seems to reward scale since AJB, HL. and IHP all trading at premium valuations relative to NUC, SHRE and JIM. The company thinks low 450s is attractive to repurchase shares and II thinks SHRE (with a pitiful track record of producing profits) is attractive. Seems positive for valuation sentiment.
