16/7/2020 08:21 | Full broker note out now forecasts remain conservative and dividends expected to continue the excellent progression.Next year figure pencilled in at 38.6p from 31.5p, what's not to like. | hastings
16/7/2020 08:17 | Thanks for that Melton - dividends are usually not a big deal to me, but in the case of JIM must form a substantial part of the share price | tightfist
16/7/2020 08:13 | Hi CWA1,.I have just seen Shanklin's comments re normal trading..However, still a good question; I have noticed situations where emergency COVID-related fund raisings include a PrimaryBid offering..On page 3 of PrimaryBid t's and c's:."Settlement Agent; Custodianmeans Jarvis Investment Management Limited, as set out in Clause 5.7 or any other Settlement Agent or Custodian we appoint in their place;".The magnitude of money/receivables involved maybe suggests a PrimaryBid linkage? What is the typical cash-flow profile of a PrimaryBid transaction?.Cheers, tightfist | tightfist
16/7/2020 08:01 | rolo7 AIUI, the "trade and other receivables" is highly volatile from day to day. It comprises trades where clients deal through a stockbroker that has a Model B account with JIM, and settlement is delayed for one or more days. For regulatory and cash purposes, JIM has to fund this delayed settlement from its own cash. Obviously, with the increased trade volumes, this figure will tend to be larger than used to be the case. For each such trade, JIM has minimal if any credit risk as they hold whatever stock the ultimate client has bought, as well as having a suitable security arrangement with each individual stockbroker on Model B. So if the client doesn't pay, the amount owed can still be obtained from the stockbroker and/or selling the stock. Thus AIUI there was zero bad debt in the reported period. The annual results do provide a breakdown of the "trade and other receivables" figure albeit, as it varies so greatly day to day, it does not add much clarity IMHO. Hopefully the next set of results will provide a bit more detail as per the above. HTH. Cheers, Martin | shanklin
16/7/2020 08:00 | All I can say tightfist regarding dividends is that I've been in Jim since before they listed on AIM and not been disappointed. If you look back over previous years you'll see lumpy cash flow but their bad debt record has been excellent. | melton john
16/7/2020 07:49 | Hi Rolo, Melton,.A good spot amongst great headline results! Over the 6 months Cash has actually reduced by £2m whilst Receivables are up £5.7m which is ~80% of Revenue. (I thought the KPI list was pretty brief.....).This is surely worthy of serious comment? I hope the other party(s) are highly credit-worthy..Also makes one ponder about how safe the forward dividends are?, for income investors. tightfist | tightfist
16/7/2020 07:24 | Anyone got any thoughts as to what kind of effect the PrimaryBid connection is/will be having? They do seem to have upped their game a lot of late and I wonder if they will gain some real traction going forward-with, hopefully, the commensurate benefit for JIM. | cwa1
16/7/2020 07:23 | Don't forget they white label trading for lots of building societies etc. Would this delay cash-flow. These have always been a bit lumpy from my past experience but I'm open to other opinions. | melton john
16/7/2020 07:05 | big jump in trade and receiveables any comments? Thought that trading payments would be instant?! | rolo7
16/7/2020 07:03 | Always conservative with estimates which JIM have often beaten. | melton john
16/7/2020 06:58 | hastings, Thank you for that information. That upping of fair value does seem rather mean. | shanklin
16/7/2020 06:39 | Broker enthuses this morning, upping fair value from £5.50p to £6.85p! | hastings
16/7/2020 06:34 | Not sure JIM want to tell us exactly what is going on underneath the bonnet... ...for fear of alerting the competition. | shanklin
16/7/2020 06:29 | Excellent update. Upbeat directorspeak too, which is satisfactory. I had hoped for some comment on the PrimaryBid effect but perhaps it is too small, or too soon, to move the dial. | cwa1
16/7/2020 06:22 | Surprised they haven't gone up a bit more than that. These are the gift that keeps on giving. Great little company. | evaluate
16/7/2020 06:21 | Can look forward to continued growth in dividends ahead. Will soon see a share price north of £7.00 imo. | nigelmoat

28/6/2020 12:01 | O/T Jarvis. I note today's Daily Mail's Midas page highlights warehouse stocks. Of which the earlier mentioned Warehouse REIT gets a few paragraphs. Regards. Warehouse Reit Warehouse Reit specialises in so-called multi-let industrial sites, where each space is divided into a number of smaller units. Cont... | tenapen |
