I think the customers here are quite sticky and you know that if the first stages are going well you'll likely get follow on work. I guess if first stages show no effect IXI can see that and would factor in that there likely won't be a follow up.

The only alternative is the SPSY approach (also a lumpy contract company) of only allowing actual contract wins to be reflected in broker forecasts. Means broker expectations only ever go up but also that they are probably rather lower than management expectations.

Maybe the difference in approach is due to IXI knowing they are highly likely to win specific contracts where SPSY may pitch for more and only win a smaller proportion of them. Who knows?

Surely this is straight forward to interpret? All management engaged in contract work risk adjusts its order book to forecast revenue and the resources needed to meet the requirements. This was a contract they new about and expected to win so it is in the forecast. They have to announce because it is a material size.

The new customer was the nugget I also took from the RNS. Now clearly they were expecting to win that work, but as you say DP, that most likely means repeat work down the line.
