As you have found, the CAS number listed in the ingredients section of the Resolve/Reckitt Benckiser product matches that of the Itaconix ingredient

Click poly(itaconate acid) where you’ll find the CAS number:

1662663-05-9

Now see the CAS number listed here:

HRouge also tweeted the same.

Is that helpful?

Hi Parob
Interesting find re RB but Zinador not listed as an ingredient only Itaconic Acid and there appear to be many manufactures of Itaconic Acid - Are we sure that it is the one made by ourselves?

" Poly(itaconic acid)
Deodorizer: Helps remove unpleasant odors.
CAS #: 1662663-05-9"

However a Google search for above CAS number brings up

Which is a Safety Data Sheet for Zinador - So on the surface could well be ours..

lefrene....maybe there are alternatives. Maybe not. How long would it take to develop? What are the costs and time for developing and tooling up? Quite often the High Level people have no idea what is going on!!!

purchaseatthetop, if we little people know this, then I would expect those at high levels in the industry are fully aware of this. In their situation I would be likely looking at what it would cost me, and the time to invent my own alternative, and what it would cost to leap forward by buying ITX. Will there be a competition or will they form a cartel?

This is the fun about investing. Finding the golden nugget before nearly anybody else. Hidden somewhere amongst the dross are lovely shining pebbles that might be diamonds.

and a board that exchanges information and assists instead of the normal virulence and hatred.

Thordon....we might find out on Monday what the unaudited 6 months H2 revenues are. If they are gangbusters (which I suspect they will be) watch out for the rising price. Lets hope.

Think we can all agree the last six months we have seen a massive rise in ITX ingredients in products on the market.
What we do not know is the last 6 months turnover , but we are getting closer to break even then tear on year compounded growth including profit increases.

The point is we as shareholders will not lose in the long term whatever the results are.

astral....if you like "crocodile infested, electric fenced, and heavily mined" moats (like ours at ITX), the have a look at DMTR. Both Parob and I (without knowing it) both bought into it in the last couple of days. Their technology is years ahead of competition and ready to do just like ITX.
I fully agree with you. I always 100% first thing look for massive barriers to new entrants. If they are not there, I do not invest. Mind you they've gotta be big barriers too.

lefrene...if ITX were to get bought out it would be one hell of a competitive process. Whoever won the race would own the worldwide rights to these polymers and have a permanent competitive advantage over all their competition. Game Theory means that no major player could afford not to buy ITX....
Whatever number you are thinking of for an early buy out price.....multiply it by 5 in MHO.

3/5/19 RNSJohn R. Shaw, CEO of Itaconix, stated: "As phosphates are phased out due to environmental concerns, our novel bio-based polymers are stepping in to enable a new generation of safer detergent products that set new standards for performance, value, and increased sustainability. We expect European detergent use will support our forecast revenues for 2020 and beyond."

Biden's 'green' crew won't do ITX any harm either. If they were to bring forward the banning of phosphates, that could hand a huge market to ITX faster than currently expected. I remain of the view that ITX will get bought out inside 18 months, if it looks like having the default ingredient to replace phosphates.

Does look a bit of a good situation here. Once ITX products are incorporated into formulations then they are going to be there for a long time. You want to buy businesses that have a 'moat', this ones got a crocodile infested moat and a half around it!There's always the risk that someone comes up with a completely new formulation/product that works better and/or is cheaper but no sign of that at the moment.Market cap @ around £20m or so looks very low for what's on offer.I would have thought something like £50m would be a more appropriate valuation at this point in ITX's development, or call it 10p in round figures.Wonder if we will get a TU next week?GLA
