31/3/2005 11:28 | Peel Hunt have reduced 2005 estimates to take account of the extra fuels costs. Now pre tax £1.8m, eps 4.2p | typo56
31/3/2005 07:55 | A lot of assets here Frauddy, compared to the share price and back in profit. Bid time? CR | cockneyrebel
24/3/2005 21:41 | Why the huge fall today? | hybrasil
11/3/2005 08:19 | Well this does not move for no reason and only Mr M A Lawson has been a large buyer since Adam was a lad. Last time there was serious activity - almost 3 years ago - the US master franchise holder surrendered its entire holding to crystallise tax losses; clearly that cannot occur again. But something is most definitely afoot. Maybe the huge discount to NAV is set to widen further or has attracted a predator. | esrimeur
11/3/2005 05:46 | huge activity in the shares yesterday why? | hybrasil
06/1/2005 15:12 | thankyou Freddy. Hope as always you & yours are well. | recruiter
06/1/2005 15:08 | Recruiter, i don't know, possibly, but i am more interested in the following year, when i think the impact will be much more significant on the bottom line, they have a number of refurbs and new projects which will take a little while to work through | ydderf
06/1/2005 15:00 | Today is looking rather nice... :) | obarmoth
06/1/2005 14:00 | Freddy are you expecting the company to be profitable this year ? | recruiter
06/1/2005 13:28 | could the overhang from the placing be gone at last? If so we could see rapid progress from here on......... | ydderf
19/12/2004 12:36 | Fair enough Freddy. Just seems they still have a lot of work to do although I agree there's a lot of potential. Will buy a watching holding I think. | wjccghcc
18/12/2004 10:06 | 197k trades yesterday, this is big volume for a share that hardley trades. thought it would have moved the price a bit more. | stefield
17/12/2004 09:11 | freddy good morning I have, for me, a large holding in CHE and I believe with hardening revpar and with at last some money in the kitty for expnsion that this could really come alive. | hybrasil
17/12/2004 08:43 | WJCCGHCC true, but they are not relying upon l for l growth - they are rapidly developing and expanding the business, (Organic Growth) still when in doubt - stay out! | ydderf
17/12/2004 08:15 | Not hugely compelling I thought. Rate of growth seems to have slowed over the last few months (5 months to Nov vs 11 months to Nov). | wjccghcc
17/12/2004 08:08 | the beginnings of the substantial cyclical recovery are just beginning to peep through....there's no point expecting anything dramatic for a year or so, just a hardening of the share price once the underwriters are completely out of their position - this is definately a £2 share sometime within the next 24 months imho..... | ydderf
17/12/2004 07:44 | a positive trading statement, i wonder if this will finally start to move ? | stefield
02/12/2004 17:11 | Well, I'm still small time (getting there, mind you) so I don't need to worry about building a stake in advance. I can wait for a bit of that evidence and still get in before the manglers...a nice compensation for not having much dosh. In other words, I'll be sitting on the fence a while longer. :-) | stewjames
02/12/2004 10:27 | Stew - i honestly have no idea, but it is obviously going to be very good for hotel operators which are highly operationally geared like CHE. This is a classic situation where ordinary investors can get ahead of analysts and manglers, who like to see 'evidence' before they buy. This price inflation will hit the bottom line dramaticallly but not for a good few months, time enough to buy meaningfully imho | ydderf
02/12/2004 10:01 | Hmmm. Anecdotally I agree with you, fred. I've been unable to get a late booking (other than in the absurdly expensive "luxury" hotels) the last few times I've tried. What do you think is driving this resurgence? I find it difficult to believe demand has increased that much. Has there perhaps been a lot of sales of hotels and subsequent conversion into other businesses? | stewjames
30/11/2004 11:02 | actually i am finding it difficult to be ubiquitous at present, the hotel trade is booming and so it is diffuclt to find accomodation... by the time the real time reality (pick up and phone and do some eazy market research on hotel room availability and rates compared with last year) hits the p and l it will be one to two years from now - that makes an ezy two bagger plus imvho | ydderf |
