We could do with MT's appraisal of the SQZ deal, he seems to know his stuff! Which reminds me SOUC is another one of my holdings yet to take off if all goes well and Freeport ever comes back online. Still thinking about one you recommended a while ago, I may leave it too late as freeing up funds is a problem.
Have a good day out, it's working from home for me today, a hard life lol, but I may catch a bit of Ian King.

BH I do like JSE and have quite a few of them. MT wrote a message a couple of months ago and left out NOT, in the text, which obviously completely reversed the meaning and didn't seem consistent with his previous messages. I quickly agreed with him regarding "timings" etc only for him to then completely reverse his message so I looked a bit of a chump but actually now my hunch seems more correct than the general feeling there, in that it had at that point and up until now taken a substantially longer time than everyone seemed to initially prognose. However I'm still definitely a supporter of the management there who have pulled off some excellent deals, IMHO. Anyway off out for the day and likely not contactable so best of luck all.

Trd25, how long have you been trading then buddy, you seem so experienced. Let me be clear, this "excitement" is f all compared to my real life buddy, which is far more stressful than "this".
BH the third musketeer is still posting over on JSE I think? Those were the days. I can see your portfolio has extended a lot since then and seems to have been (very?) successful for you?
Still no fing news from IOG, I hope it is good when arrives, as I get a feeling a lot of traders have averaged down significantly?

Whose begging for news ...although they did say mid-Jan (after year end) so maybe soon now as recent signs are looking good for Southwark. Hopefully Southwark will be the turning point.

Ok maybe because I’m a new investor here and not in over my head at a higher price I can afford to wait, yes I feel for longer term holders, but still begging for news won’t make it happen any sooner, call me what you like Sage, etc, pretty childish if you ask me and condescending, if people aren’t happy with the company then sell up, why put yourself through even more punishment than need be? Especially if you say you have seen incompetence happen here for years! Why would anyone stay invested in a company that apparently has let them down year in year out? I’m baffled! And I’m not trying to be argumentative, or looking for an argument, I’m just curious as to why? If you want or need an argument move on I won’t be part of it, I’m just here to make money like the rest of you! I have said all along if it’s good enough for Mr Buffet then it’s good enough for me, anyway Good luck Dunderhead and all,
A nice little lift today here !

Some valid points Dh based on the experience to date of long suffering shareholders here. Hopefully Southwark will be the turning point.

3031, well they absolutely needed a new decent experienced COO and I think they have that now - but judging from my own view over last few years (ahem) and the last RNS they didn't really have the right team at all in place and the various third pay contractors weren't up to scratch either - however they appear to have finally recognised this issue which is probably the most important thing (I wonder what Eureka moment provided that "insight"!) and this will hopefully now pay dividends in the future.
All IMHO, DYOR.

To keep referring to the management team as "new" isn't a fair reflection of what happened. The old CEO was replaced by the CFO. The old CEO stayed on as a consultant. An existing member of the senior management team took the CFO position. The only new guy was the COO. At the C-suite level, it was essentially a reshuffle.

3029 - oh Christ almighty the sage has really spoken now - i'll get my coat!!

3027 - tidy - communication far better - than what - the previous "management" - that is a very very low bar my friend!!

I am not saying this well will not be successful - but it is simple - we appear late - so tell us why.

Yes I appreciate the weather can impact operations tremendously - it just seems that little old IOG - seem to be doing all their important work in the worst possible and most expensive weather conditions and they should simply take that into account when providing very padded times lines as well.

I'll shut up now because as I say, I am expecting good news!! Eventually.

IMHO, DYOR.

So many impatient people on LSE, posting about an RNS won’t make it come any sooner, there are inexperienced investors it’s obvious, it will arrive when it arrives, and as I said previously, I think it will be a blinder, this management wants to make up for all the shortfalls of the previous lot,

You truly can't tell from that at all though, in all honesty?
However if this is testing Southwark it is very late and the market should be updated IMHO.
I am absolutely not saying this will not be a successful well, as agree the flare looks a reasonable size but again, it seems information provision is not good.

You could probably find a better "management" team at the local grocers and truly believe a trade sale is the best for this company, especially in a manner not to award the "management" team with regard to their respective LTIPs etc.
As by god, a lot of other potential employers are queuing up to lure them away - according to that G&G genius Fiona that is!!

Joking aside, all IMHO, DYOR.

That's why I said fwiw. I wouldn't buy anything just because Malcy has tipped it. I also happen to agree so long as the new management can turn the corner operationally. We may find out on Monday.

Malcy's business is to help small oil companies promote themselves. He rarely, but not never, expresses a negative opinion on a small oiler. One needs to retain ones own critical faculties and not be influenced by those with an inherent bias.

As it goes I happen to agree - in other words it can get back to recent highs and would still be risk discounted. It will take a while, the market will be cautious, and the price of gas is important. That should be OK in the medium term, Europe will reprice to seaborne and Chinese demand should keep that at a decent price point. Needless to say we need a run of operational success too. The next few financial reports will be very important as numbers could well surprise to the upside despite all the difficulties.
