Yes, I think your right, thats why I kept re-reading the RNS's, the only thing I could think of was that perhaps a few big holders thought they saw a hidden
message in the RNS's.

But having said that it might have been a few large trades, never mind we'll see what tomorrow brings.

The drop in the share price obviously came when the reports were released. However the figures released by GDF Suez were quite good and the other message only drew attention to various obligations. The reports did affect the share price but it is not clear why this should be so.

Does anybody know if the current decline in the share price now, has anything to do with the two new RNS's timed at 0930 & 0959hrs this morning??

I can not see the connection?

How lovely to have a share which keeps on rising and with a PE of 6.64 it is still very cheap. I sold 50% of my shares some time ago but I rather regret that sale. On the other hand the share price could have plumitted and the special dividend on the current holding will be most welcome.

PS. Re My last Thursday's Sell of to take profit.

Yesterday I bought back two thirds of my stock, just prior to the announcement of the above results, and the small rise in the sp, bit of luck there!

Following on from yesterdays RNS, for those that did not have time to look at
the Brazillian, EDF Suez subsidary of which Suez owns 50.1%, with my 'small' knowledge of Company Accounts, I was pursuaded that it is an excellent, very profitable Company, that comes with the merger, and has an excellent future!

Mind you, I took a very quick look through this morning, prior to the markets opening, and I could NOT find the R$ to US$ rate used??

Perhaps a more experienced investor on here could give his/her opinion of this subsidery??

Regards,

David

IMS scheduled for Thursday 11th Nov. Hope for more information on the merger, then there could be more to talk about. At the moment anything talked about must be pure conjecture.
However I did add to my position yesterday whereas many sold...at this share price it's all down to individual views right now.
Mine obviously is bullish.
Good luck all

Morning All -

I have to admit that I find this all very confusing, and of course the 92p Divi seems to be at the root of it.

I bought in about the time of the announcement on c10th Sept 10. Since then it has steadily risen to c427p a couple of days ago, this is when the daily rise went up by c10p. At this time I was c£1000.- in profit, (£274.- up on the day).

So often, as with BP & Tullow in recent months, I have watched great rises and done nothing about it, only watch the share price go back down until I was way into the RED, £1,500.- at one time.

As a pretty novice investor, mid term not long term, I realised that I had to sell occasionally, and buy back on the dip, as it were.

Well, after much thought about it on Thurs last, and having rang the Investor Relations department, and getting nowhere, I decided to Sell. I took the £1,000.- profit, I shall now wait and buy back in shortly between now and the announcement.

I would just like to add that I do not feel that this thread is used enough, we have this facility to air our views, and ask pertinent questions, share ideas etc, but it is not used much, which I think is a waste of a resourse.

Regards to all,

David

Can't disagree with that guys - Hope you're right. If that the case I think that we can still look forward to the late comers piling in with days to go to get a piece of the 92p.

I agree, Think we are looking at shortage of capacity and increased pricing, with the market so high this must be a good place to sit?

I thought I read yesterday that the combined assets would have generated more since the deal was announced than expected so assumed that was what was driving the market and that the div has long since been allowed for.

IMO the special divi is being built into the share price now, and the closer we get to the ex div date the more of the 92p will be built in (my target 460). I believe that once we go ex div the share price will reduce by a similar amount. Therefore I will sell just prior to the ex div date to hopefully maximise the price. Hopefully in the meantime another bidder might come along.

If you sell before the final takeover announcement, would you not forego the special divi ? AFAIK, we don't have a qualification date yet for the special divi, so can I assume it will be after the deed is done ?

Plenty to buy from TSCO to VOG. TRK potentially could be very interesting next year.

IMHO I think that this will continue to rise, albeit with the odd retrace here and there, up to the takeover announcement, when I hope the share price will be in the region of 460 as people pile in to get the special divi. I'm hanging on until it's almost a done deal incase we see another suitor appear. GLA

Anybody out there know if there is anything behind this strong upward movement in the sp?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If anyone did then they would have the same information as those who are taking the price up...or it could be pure jumping on the bandwagon. Whatever it's kinda good :-))

Post takeover announcement we were at 370. If the 92p special divi is being built in then we should see 460 ish IMHO. Centrica seems to have faded away - but who knows?
