23/2/2006 08:33 | LONDON (AFX) - International Medical Devices PLC (IMD) said it has enjoyed an outstanding last six months following the acquisition of the medical distributor Meddis Ltd in September 2005. It said Meddis' November sales were 29 per cent up on the same period in 2004, and it expects Meddis to post a robust set of figures in the first half. IMD said it has launched trials of its 'safe' thoracic drainage products across six NHS hospitals and anticipates substantial market penetration. In addition, it said the needle buyer for the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency has agreed to support the fast-track launch of IMD's safe needle products into the NHS for launch in April. IMD said it continues to review growth opportunities in both domestic and international markets by both acquisition and the appointment of distributors across Europe and North America. | martincoops

23/6/2004 21:18 | Dave - I use Inmarsat Standard M on boat and in my shack in the Caribbean. It's not cheap, about £3K for dish/electronics and £1+/minute but it works well and produces around 64kbps link to isp. There are alternatives such as highlighted above but not sure Astra footprint on that transponder goes as far east as Turkey so do your due diligence. By the way, Elen McArthur, the sailoress also uses Inmarsat Std M so I figure if its good enough for her ..........! See this link for a supplier/info: | poo

23/6/2004 10:59 | Dave ...there are loads of two way systems available ..some very sophisticated ones that you can use while actually travelling on a boat or vehicle and other slightly less sophisticated and expensive ones that are fixed ..the costs vary according to the amount of data you are transferring but expect to pay circa £2000 for the dish and router and about 150.00 a month for the service heres just one link i found using Google theres plenty more out there | mr potato head
23/6/2004 10:22 | Dave, this thread has a good discussion of the alternatives | biffer
23/6/2004 00:48 | If I was in the middle of nowhere, How would I access the internet? Can you have satellite internet? any links anyone? The only ones I have found so far are where you have to be near a 'base' station, ie 1km....... how would you access the internet if you were, say, 5km away from any other people/buildings, in a place with no mobilephones...... is there a satellite dish system available? does the internet work from satellites in space? help much appreciated thanks.. dave | dave37

05/1/2004 11:43 | I received my funds on 30 December. However, I understand the final date for settlement may be 19 January, so perhaps it is being done in alphabetical order, or in the order of acceptance by shareholders!. | keyboard
05/1/2004 11:27 | I note that my PEP/ISA holdings still show as shares but that the funds available for investment have increased by their cash offer value. I can only assume this means we are within 5 days of receiving the cash i.e. settlement date of any purchase. (The result is actually misleading as it made me look £20k better off when I logged on this morning!) | boadicea
05/1/2004 10:28 | anyone received the money yet ? | jbarcroftr
