Would a sale like that not normally hit the share price in a bigger way unless someone bought them. How is this viewed long term for ITL.One view is that a T/O isn't imminent otherwise why bail now or is it just a need for cash on the investment group front who have probably made a tidy sum here.

Lead investor cuts Intec stake
By Neil Hume

Published: December 3 2009 02:00 | Last updated: December 3 2009 02:00

Intec Telecom Systems was among the most heavily traded small-cap stocks yesterday after its biggest shareholder sold half its stake.

Shares in the maker of billing software eased 0.9 per cent to 108¼p as General Atlantic, a US investment group, sold 40m shares - or 13 per cent of the company - through UBS at 105p each.

Traders believe General Atlantic, which recently cut its stake in outsourcing group Xchanging, could sell its remaining 12 per cent Intec holding in the near future. Separately, US rival Convergys declined to comment on rumours that it recently made an unsuccessful bid for Intec. "Rumours and speculation only confirm the attractive nature of our industry," said Sajid Malhotra, senior vice-president, Corporate Strategy, at Convergys

Would have thought that any bid would need to be a bit more than 140p.

As telecom wars hot up, Intec sees strong growth

Global business support systems (BSS) major Intec Telecom Systems is expecting strong growth in India and South Asia, riding on the opportunities opening up in the wake of an intense competition between telecom operators.

Intec, which had reported a 24 per cent increase in revenues for the year ended September 30, 2009 over that of the previous year, is bullish on the prospects for the current fiscal and foresees a strong growth in the India-South Asia region, company VP for India and South Asia, Bikram Singh Bedi told ET.

Mr Bedi said that all three verticals were showing robust growth and that the company planned to up its headcount in the India-South Asia region during this fiscal, and that there were plans for additional investment in the region.

Thanks, as missed the article.
Also buoying the price no doubt is the possibility of getting promoted to the FTSE 250 next week, unless I am mistaken.

Intersting article in the mail yesterday, might see these rumours push the price back up a bit. EG

MARKET REPORT: Intec is back on investors' radar
By Geoff Foster
Last updated at 10:16 PM on 30th November 2009
Comments (0) Add to My Stories Eighteen months ago Oracle, the world's largest enterprise software company, had a good look at Intec Telecom Systems and then walked away.

The Woking-based telecoms billing software group still has international admirers. One in particular, which resides in Cincinnati, apparently recently made a 'friendly' takeover approach at a significant premium to the prevailing market price but was sent away by ITS's board with a flea in its ear. It is now considering whether or not to go hostile.
Intec rose 21/4p to 1023/4p on hot gossip that Convergys Corporation, which provides customer care, human resources and billing services, will not take no for an answer and will soon launch a £430m or 140p-a-share cash bid.

Private equity firm General Atlantic Partners holds the aces, being Intec's largest shareholder with 25pc.
Intec has been transformed over the past 18 months from a globally recognised but underperforming business to a world leader in its field. Earlier this year it received two 'multi-million' dollar contracts from existing customers in the Europe, Middle East and African regions.
Last month it reported sparkling annual results which moved Investec to upgrade its 2010 pre-tax profit forecasts by 2pc to £29.5m. The broker's target price is 135p

Gonna be a point when these fly again before long imo - just a question of will you be holding when it happens or watching, if you're a trader.
