07/5/2017 15:38 | Still a lot of customer service issues in FB and seems that a load of Bogof items were sent out with only one product in the box. Also two items sold out on SD.com and not much promotional activity in May so far. Mainly promo through feelunique and SD.com plus blog reviews | croasdalelfc

07/5/2017 10:37 | That all said, it's not like St Tropez doesn't have a FB page and direct ordering via their website, so perhaps ST just more successful in targeting this mkt? Just had a quick look at St Tropez followers. 168k. Might be interesting to track their progress. | connor23
07/5/2017 10:27 | That might be a good point BB. I was thinking out loud a little. I think ST is a genuine disrupter to a mkt that hasn't up until now been affected by the changes in customer tastes / demand and the Internet / social media. Perhaps personal consumables are only just being seen in this light, and I guess the shave clubs would perhaps be another sign of that. I guess that's why IDP are making the foray into cosmetics as well. Interesting strategy. How long before incumbents respond or competition increases? | connor23
07/5/2017 09:41 | Quick FB update. Followers now just shy of 230k in just under a month, so up from 2k a week to 2.5k a week. Encouraging but presumably down to the seasonality I assume. Hopefully the acceleration continues. Just got me to thinking about can any value be ascribed to a companies followers, particularly where they have a DTC model like ST? Much like users for tech companies. Presumably not (difficult to assess the 'quality' of a follower I assume, but an interesting one for the future of social media. | connor23
06/5/2017 10:15 | even if they manage £1m from ASOS p.a. and grow it from there, with other partnerships IMO that are likely to be put in place this year, multi-geographic sales potential etc etc, then we are IMO at the start of a fascinating journey...markets look ahead and last week's rise IMO was the start of that forward looking "buy in to potential" movement (look at GFIN for example....!)....add in all the other products it is bringing to market and I'm holding on for much more than the current momentum....not without its risks but management seem IMO to be progressing pretty well IMO | qs99
06/5/2017 08:06 | Plus Feel Unique doing a special promotion. Feels like the hype has only just begun! | zagrosfold
06/5/2017 08:04 | More and more independent reviewers writing positively about ST. | zagrosfold
06/5/2017 02:16 | J777j - would you say it's like GBO. Or worse? | chizgreen68
05/5/2017 22:12 | I did once have a summer job as a bin man, and did go to Oxbridge. I have no idea who Karen Mathews is, but if you look back at my posts you will see my trading style has evolved.Anyway, I've done well on IDP, buying in at 130' 170 and a final tranche last week at 207. I sold today at 265 and am sitting on a holding that cost me nothing. My main holding these days are THRG, RMMC and Fundsmith. Everything else is just playing around, seeking a bit of fun. Also, just because I post something doesn't mean I believe it. Obvs, | mad foetus
05/5/2017 20:45 | They do seem to be good at expanding the range of ST. I can see the comparison with Fever Tree, and it astonishes me that nobody bought out FEVR when it's price was a quarter of what it now is. The marketing of ST is great, the combo of high street and internet, professional stylists and then direct to consumers for follow up. To those who say it is nothing special and anyone can copy it, well, you can say the same about almost any FMCG. | mad foetus
05/5/2017 20:22 | So hot right now! | geheimnis2
05/5/2017 20:05 | It's the hottest stock in the U.K. Right now . | nw99
05/5/2017 19:28 | Hotting you are spot on. All this talk about cost of sales is designed to frighten people into selling due to either 1) open shorts or 2) a few saddos have missed the boat (though i still think there is chance to get on board). Onwards and upwards to £5+ in next 3-6 months. I am a holder. | andyr42
05/5/2017 19:05 | Most products are or will be available to consumers via the internet (including directly via IDP's own sales website) so cost of sales is low and margins are high. Margins will also be rising since movement of production of Skinny Tan etc. to the UK in Dec 2016. It looks like IDP should already be market capitalised over £200m vs the current tiny level of £30m. Revenues can only grow and grow. | hottingup
05/5/2017 18:52 | This has had a great run, but irrespective of the prospects it is the P/L account that is the factor, sales are one thing, but what is the cost of sales, that we do not know! | bookbroker
05/5/2017 18:34 | Great day today. Can this keep rising into a pre close update next month (assuming we get one)? Interesting to see where it starts to settle. | connor23 |
