Rereading the interim report, there are details that might give rise to concern.Costs rising rapidly, declining cash flow, increasing cap ex,relatively drab maritime market, uncertainty surrounding future government contracts, competition in the aviation market. It was if Numis had decided to stress all the potentially negative things that could impact the group.Yet,Inmarsat is in a pretty good space. It's at the forefront of technological innovations,it's more than useful to national governments.I imagine that if,if this company ever got into real difficulties it would be manoeuvred into being taken over by a corporation used doing confidential government work.I'm not aware that anything radical has altered since the interim figures so I presume the below statement still holds. You might see some support as income funds come in the strip the dividend. That might help to turn the tide. This is quite a complicated business to understand.I suspect it's oversold though."We do not expect any significant changes to consensus forecasts for 2017 and 2018 as a consequence of our performance in the first half of 2017."Interim Aug comment 2017

"Excellent, long, detailed note", is how Alphaville describe Numis's research on Inmarsat.I'm not sure the concerns they've raised about maritime, competitive pressures in the aviation field etc etc are just going to disappear overnight. They also believe that the dividend won't be increased only maintained but that was pretty much inferred by recent company statements.Brokers might be a bunch of star gazers but even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.I still hold some ISAT ,but purely by chance sold a wad yesterday along with some other holdings to raise cash. The market feels fairly creaky just now.

I'm in, been waiting for ISAT to hit 700. A rare chance to buy a growth company that pays a dividend.

frazboy - "so basically I agree, they're guessing!"

Just 'cos they earn mega bucks does not mean they are any better at predicting the future than you or I. They are told to give a forecast share price so they do, I gave up listening to their waffle a long time ago haha.

some coverage of the Numis note on FT Alphaville this morning - worth reading if you're a holder (Numis formerly house broker for Avanti I think)

wad collector - yes, I guess it's very sensitive to assumptions made, so basically I agree, they're guessing!

Laughably Deutsche Bank reduced their target from 1020 to 1010 last month. Bit of a disparity between those views. And a 1% change in target price???
I see Jeffries International (Who they?) target 1245p
Almost as if they are all guessing.....

Indeed, £6 was the time to buy. I'm thinking I should have sold at £8 now though...

I am in...I always like buying at a years low...

p/e 14, yield 5.8%

Most brokers seem to have targets way above here...

Now a 6 month low , I see the few recent broker targets are 890-1020 which seem laughable , though SG put out a sell note yesterday .
