Hipshot,

Good post.

I have a nasty feeling both companies are going to disappoint an awful lot of investors, but I really hope I'm wrong.

reputations are on the line, we will soon know !

Indeed...! AJ could be right. But we should have that from the top (Or is AJ somehow an insider?). Where is EUA's timely info? Their PR is non-existent...! Is this excusable...? With all the energy that has been expended on these admittably-confusing BB inputs, EUA could have given us a really great newsletter...! Or have they already expended their budget for PR...?

Boris,

That sort of comment is vile, you should be kicked off here ASAP.

This is supposed to be a share discussion board, and everyone should be allowed their opinion, regardless of our individual feelings.

I don't hold either share, and time will tell who is right, so why not wait for both sets of results? Ashley may be right!

If he is, some people on here will have a lot of humble pie to eat !

Let's stick to discussing shares!

The bunting is out at iii, even the EUA shareholders are glad to see the back of Ashley James over there. Hopefully he will either be kicked off every other site or die. Not bothered which really but if he dies I hope it is painfully!

Ashley it may have its fun moments, but is is definitely not only a game.
My investments and speculations are meant to provide for me and my family in the future. I'd rather do this than put it in some expensively administered pension scheme. On 2 other threads today you have stated that you are not a fan of gold at present and,on the other recommend an Irish goldminer operating in the Russian far east!
I would be careful that the same fate does not befall you that happened on iii, here.
On the other hand Celtic Resources does look interesting.Look at their website here:

Gausie,

Very funny!

Donpablo,

Yes I did, my comments are an overview, hopefully that poster will migrate to advfn a far better site IMHO.

HEY IT'S ONLY A GAME LIGHTEN UP!

Oh Ashley. Didn't you just post a message saying "Brilliant message on iii"? You are confused as well as sad aren't you? Logical argument doesn't seem your strong point. I suggest you start with Aristotle and work through to Hegel.

Dear all,

We are, I think proudly members of advfn, a site encouraging free debate and comment on equities, some good BB posters, including some intelligent contrarian posters and an impressive trading information system.

IIN seem to go for the mass lemming market, the BB commentry is often very uninformed, unimaginative, the system outdated and data often wrong IMHO.

I for one am very pleased to see so many investors leaving IIN for the more advanced financial network of ADVFN.

Please discuss

Best regards

Ashley James

Significant movement upwards in price after a long spell in the doldrums just under 50p. Any good rumours around? Not much volume but maybe some large buy orders waiting to be filled?

iii has opened at 3.40 - I can't remember the figures but I think that would be a market cap of over £500m Of course if Advfn had market cap I could look it up!!

Maybe they could float off 40% for £20m valuing Advfn at £50m & then watch the market take that up to £200m. That would give then a £120m investment & £20m cash to create another success story/invest That would probably make ONL worth about £200m or £40/share. Time to stop dreaming...

Learjet -- I think maybe you underestimate how widely iii is used and known internationally. Its been going for years, is used by a lot of professionals, and attracts a lot of advertising from the financial world that is considerably more up market than Hit the Monkey. I haven't seen any published figures for fully-paid subscribers to ADFN--maybe they would like to make the numbers public. You dont get much on ADFN without subscribing, whereas iii is free and so gets zillions of hits. Would ADFN be up to a NASDAQ listing? That is the real basis of any comparison. Give it a bit of time.

Clueless, I think you might be very surprised at the current subscription figures. I know I would be if I knew them. And yes that was my point, in the open market ADVFN would almost certainly be worth more than ADVFN, but if they were to go to market and ONL held the controlling stake, then what price ONL? cheers Lj

LJ Doesn't iii have something like 400,000 registered users? Advfn maybe 10,000? I think most of the valuation models for these companies are based on users, page impressions etc. more than the functionality of the site. That's not to say that some time in the future Advfn won't have more subscribers than iii (as its better IMHO) and therefore be worth more. Until then I think it is stretching to say Advfn should be worth more than iii even though we'd all like it to be. Having said that it is probably worth more in the open market than the whole of On-line is currently valued at.

Technet - interesting thought if ADVFN were to be spun off from ONL as an entity in its own right, then the market cap of ADVFN would presumably be at least that of iii ie in excess of £246 million. I believe that ADVFN is far superior to iii in terms of content and that any float would be significantly oversubscibed. If however ADVFN remains as per, then the market cap of ONL based on circa £7 per share is only c £35 million. Something not quite right here me thinks. cheers Lj
