According to Company REFS, IEC has 102 million shares in issue. Hence, to exceed the 90% threshold, 91.8 million shares must be tendered in favour of the deal from ONGC. So, 10.2m shares can go astray or vote against, so long as the remainder vote in favour.

Postscript: The precise figure from IEC's last Rule 2.10 announcement is 102,506,383 shares. So, let's hope that at least 92,255,745 shares are tendered in favour before 1pm tomorrow. Every share counts, so don't delay -- vote today! ;0)

Someone slapped a 203K sell order on at 1030p for the closing auction. Clearly some holders are keen to exit. Or go short.

looks like the auction is going to screw us again, but the end game is close one way or another. We either start the new year with £12.5 in the bank or we have every fruit cake that advfn has to offer on here stickung the knife in and how they knew all along and IEc is going bust blah blah blah.

Merryl Lynch have contacted all the institutions and are not aware of any of them not wanting to tender their holding.Couple that with the PI's and we are looking at 98-99% take up of the offer.I can understand share holders getting jittery as the end game approaches but sanity will rule!

I tried to roll some at 1060ish that were tendered.
My broker spoke to mm who told him what was in telegragh.
My broker advised me not to roll as they would probably be paid out within a few days.[and ML give 3p less on the sell]
I had thought they would not pay till 14th?
