2.22m shares after the acquisition placing buying Sutherlands - That deal transformed IHUK's market position, adding new banking lines etc which paid off when IHUK turned in a strong maiden profit.

I don't discount Bruce making a bid. Looks like he has found a running mate in Greg Litster - as your link shows Bruce is a dealmaker and known corporate raider, speculative but there must be a solid reason he is stake-building.

EPS: 23p and I see no reason why that shoud not carry on getting better and better........

GRLZ: have a look back this has already been through an rto with Bruce.... I think there are 2.22million shares in issue as well but could be wrong, just going from notes....

Quite right - very decent spread still though for such a small market cap for some reason (at least yesterday when I bought mine)

Granada7 - MMs are a bit dry of stock I think.

Small trade showing on plus pushed the price up - makes me think any buying could really shoot it up as they will need to get their hands on some stock. People aren't prepared to sell at these bargain levels given IHUK's strong cash position.

That's right, the lesser known ones are where the money is made.. it only takes one tip sheet to get hold of it and something like this would fly - should get there in it's own time regardless though. Will have a look at ABTX when I get a chance, cheers.

Good good, I am always interested to hear how others come across stocks like these that I would regard as being very hidden away. I plan on buying a few more of these so don't go telling everyone! not that I am sure anyone would care less... I've been holding a share called ABTX for a fair old time now and have been about the only chap on the board I set up. Despite some serious convincing no one would buy into it more fool them, safety in numbers is a mugs game!

Hi Goz.

I was going through some fitlers on advfn looking for companies with more cash than market cap and not loss making - as you would expect most have something significantly wrong but this doesn't seem to. Looked into it some more and then bought in.

Agree need to be prepared to hold long term - as long as they can stay profitable - even without growing profits - they are building up cash reserves that already exceed the market cap - the shareprice only has to catch up with that for 50% proftis. As you say though the market should be good for them for a while and this year will be the first full year following the acquisition so should expect growth as well which is a bonus. At some point the market should wake up to the anomoly at that point will prob take some off the table though never know how long that will take - if the growth story's still looking good at that point then will leave some in for further gains.

I think a lot of people won't look at a share with market cap this low, also the reverse takeover history complicates research a little which puts people off - all the better to be honest as allows us to get in at these prices.

For me this one is a very long term investment. when you add up cumulatively what this could be worth in a number of years it looks like a very steady business all things being good!

emuphil: how did you come across this one? not much interest shown despite good results in March.. I suspect its is the usual case of pi s not being interested in anything but raw materials...

its a cracker and with bruce and friend buying a few more things look bright. banks are not going to be lending in a vigorous way for a long time allowing impact to charge its customers extortionate amounts for the foreseeable future!

Impact Holdings gained admission to AIM via a reverse takeover by cash shell Nanotech Energy. Impact Holdings is a pre-settlement lender i.e. it provides individuals, solicitors, insurance and claims management companies with funding relating to court cases and pre-agreed claims. The loans are repaid when the cases are settled or invoices are paid by insurers. Impact has also identified a number of funding opportunities in a wide range of commercial opportunities.

Impact generates profit by charging interest and fees on its loans. It only lends against a guaranteed outcome and consequently debt serviceability is not an issue. Timing of repayment is usually the only uncertainty with most loans repaid within 2 years. Demand for this type of financing has grown since most forms of legal aid for personal injury claims were abolished on the introduction of the Access to Justice Act in 2000.

Impact was set up in July 2004. It is regulated by the OFT through which it is licensed to lend under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. In August a further £3.5m gross (£3.2m net), was raised to grow the loan book.
Loans are targeted primarily at individuals, organisations and firms of solicitors involved in personal injury or insurance claims. In the majority of cases, the claimants would have characteristics such that mainstream lenders would be unwilling to advance a loan. Consequently, interest rates with an APR of c.12%-19% are charged plus administrative fees, whilst the cost of group borrowing is c.8.25%.The money usually goes to an intermediary rather than the beneficiary and will be secured against the case/invoice. Default risk is minimised by taking security, insurance and indemnities from the solicitors' practices and the claims management intermediaries. Reliance is also placed on the personal liability of solicitors for the debts of their practices. The group applies a bad debt provision rate of 1% of new loans. This is conservative based upon the trading experience of ICL, which was the holding company of Impact before the reverse.
The Company has relatively fixed overheads. Consequently, when it hits a critical mass of lending to cover, a high proportion of the net margin on every new loan will fall through to the bottom line.
