There is no placebo group in the extension study so it is only of any use from a safety point of view. And let's face it, safety is not the problem, efficacy is!

They only managed to get 44 patients into the extension study so it won't be statistically significant and will not report until 2019.

I don't think there is any ambiguity that this will hit 30p next week. No one is even arguing with this now. People have moved on and are now looking for 40p

As far as I can see Lupuzor failed to meet the Phase 3 primary endpoints because that is clearly what the announcement in April says. There was also a shockingly high drop out rate even among people taking the drug.

The sub-group in which the company says it performed least badly was unfortunately not sufficiently large and by a sufficiently large margin to achieve statistical significance.

To be honest it seems similar to placebo + standard of care, so it would be cheaper just to prescribe good care to patients.

At best it will need another Phase 3 trial which means millions more cash will need to be raised and a lot more time expended.

Meanwhile there is nothing else to bring to market.

Sorry but that is how it is.
