Going to be the easiest 50%er going in to 2017 imo. Agree, all those caught in the bear trap sub 500p. Nice.

IGG tipped to be the best of the spread betters. BUY 600p

The bad news is already out there - it's initial shock impact will fade in importance as the months go by and negotiations begin and the FCA and IG adjust their positions.

it was just a shot across the bow for the blue chip big players......who to be quite honest are conforming 98% to the consultation paper already

I would agree with that. I suspect it will try to recover most of the losses in the coming months. At the very least, I thing 600p short term is likely.Either they will relocate, or the government will back off once they see there is little to gain.

FCA in my opinion likes strong, large and well financed firms. From the simple point of view, they can be fined and actually pay for regulation and compensation if need be. Cannot see this changing, post any new regulations.

@ RB1206 - thanks for posting. Pretty sad that regulation of these companies falls through the cracks.

nigelpm - CMC is a tiddler by comparison with very little market history to see. Also why would someone invest in a company that appears to be indicating a move to Germany which may result in a delist from AIM as a result?

CMC are big as well. Both going to do well. Far more upside in CMC now.

I think it's IG that will be the winner here, nigelpm, they have the scale and will pick up business from the minnows!

CMC looking great value now - vs IG.

Or water it down to something relatively ineffectual which is more likely imo. They've made their big noise, probably quietly backtrack over coming months.

and hint of moving the jobs abroad or/and offshore (jobs and business), the FCA will be under pressure to retract the consultation paper

It's still only proposals for discussion at this stage anyway. Ridiculous markdown on that basis - but possibly a great buy for those with an appetite for risk... like me.

It seems the share price is waking up to that possibility Woodhawk.

A real shame but the business needs to protect itself at the end of the day.
