20/7/2011 07:55 | xd today so expect this to fall 14-15p. | wllmherk
18/7/2011 23:49 | these fell to around 210p level Feb 2009 during the worst financial crises since the Great Depression. Only a default by the US would cause such a sell off and personally, I think it unlikely we will see the US default. So I hope your wrong TB as ICAP is currently one of my largest holdings. | wllmherk
18/7/2011 22:56 | IMHO I think this share could bottom out at 210, sounds daft, but this is going of the charts, from a technical point of view. DYOR. | tigerbell
18/7/2011 19:33 | bought a shed load of these a few weeks back at 478p with costs. I read somewhere that if the EURO collapses or even those countries on the periphery go back to their own currency then this could prove very profitable for ICAP with increased trading of volatile currencies. Every cloud. | wllmherk

29/6/2011 20:13 | 'Bid interest' rather depends on Michael Spencer. He and his family still control around 16% of the equity and I doubt anyone would have a pop without his agreement. | jeffian
29/6/2011 20:08 | Interdealer money broker ICAP (LSE: IAP) was the biggest gainer on the FTSE 100, adding 9.69 percent on speculation that it is a takeover target, with analysts citing improving sentiment for recently beaten-down financial stocks as optimism gathers pace that the Greek parliament will vote in favour for austerity measures. "One of the reasons why its been so strong today is because of what you might call risk-on trade ahead of the Greek vote and the market is buying risk," Keith Baird, analyst at Oriel Securities, says. "ICAP has been way oversold and the outlook is reasonably good further out and it's cheap." ICAP has fallen 13.2 percent since the start of the year, against a 5.3 percent drop in financials in the STOXX Europe 600 financial services index . One trader cites potential bid interest in the company helping propel ICAP's shares higher. ICAP declines to comment. | ronjen

24/6/2011 19:39 | Been in and out of this one since EXCO days Great company run by some of the best sharks in the pond. V.nearly time to make a few more easy quid. Buy and hold for 6 months. Easy money so long as gold doesn't double in price in which case we are all definitely stuffed. Consolation is you can't eat gold even if you are starving. | 318jazz
24/6/2011 13:40 | ropey, they can go to 200p and they can just as easily go to 800p. Why? there could be lots of factors. If I already had some I would just hold until the gneral market recovers and these recover with it. | highlands
16/6/2011 11:23 | Can this go to 400p ? If so why ? | ropey

18/5/2011 08:31 | StockMarketWire.com ICAP hikes dividend ICAP dividend up 14% StockMarketWire.com Interdealer broker ICAP said group revenue from continuing operations increased by 8% to £1.741bn with profit up 4% at £350m in the year to end-March. Electronic revenue of £302m increased by 20% produced operating profit of £123m up 23% - a record high for the electronic broking business Post trade risk and information revenue rose 30% to £184m and produced operating profit of £79m up 14% - the strongest performance to date Electronic broking and post trade risk and information contributed 54% of operating profit. The Group's operating profit margin was 22% (2010: 22%), unchanged on the prior year as a result of investment in new businesses and one-off costs. EPS (basic) was up 59% to 28.7p; EPS (adjusted basic) up 22% to 39.9p. The group recommends a final dividend per share of 14.68p. The full year dividend will be 19.95p compared with 17.55p per share in 2009/10. Michael Spencer, Group CEO, said: 'ICAP delivered a solid performance during the financial year, facilitated by our global reach and diverse range of services. It has been another period of substantial progress for our electronic broking and post trade risk services businesses. During the year we continued to increase our market share. 'This past year we concentrated on organic growth, leveraging existing assets and further developing the collaborative relationships we have with our bank customers. We invested successfully in a number of new products and services, most notably our electronic interest rate swap platform, which has now transacted more than ¬360bn in trades since its launch last September. 'In the first half of the year we saw generally quieter markets but delivered good revenue and earnings growth driven primarily by our electronic broking. We benefited from the strength of our emerging markets businesses, continuing turbulence in the world's commodity markets, significant euro denominated bond issuance and rising concerns about higher inflation. More recently, the political and economic uncertainties in the Middle East and North Africa have contributed to volatility in global financial markets. 'We have made a good start to the new financial year and the short-term outlook is underpinned by macroeconomic stress and continuing market volatility. We are confident we can continue to deliver growth as we continue to invest in the business.' Story provided by StockMarketWire.com | bb123

06/4/2011 09:43 | Icap thrives on volatility and, with a few small wars, Euro implosion, trade imbalances, oil price shock, food price inflation, tsunamis etc. etc. etc., we've certainly got that by the bucketload! | jeffian
05/4/2011 21:50 | 43 days until results on 18th May....circa 3% rise today A few snippets: "management said that pre-tax profit for the year to end-March will be between £333m and £357m"..compared to £247 last year... "in Brazil, revenue grew 44 per cent in 2010's final quarter" "There has also been encouraging growth from ICAP's new electronic euro interest rate swaps platform, and trading in the first five months saw volume transactions running ahead of expectations at over 230bn (£196bn). " .sounds impressive....pleasa Comments? Craigy | craigy
18/3/2011 13:08 | what goes down must come up or is it the other way round anyhow I see no reason to panic over the fall ,the whole market has come off as it needed to . Im happy to hold only see us going back towards 5.20 | dapper don
23/2/2011 08:34 | Any views on the share price fall? I have copied below 2 Bloomberg TV interview with Michael Spencer ICAP CEO | bb123
02/2/2011 08:57 | Well it all looks good to me trading in line with expectations yet there is lovely growth in brazil 44% and on many IAP platforms good percentage increases due to volatility which is not going away anytime soon. long term this is a sure fire winner imho you want a company with world wide revenue streams with a decent yield and this fits the bill | dapper don |
