Yes I believe you are correct I still have funds set aside for what i call current plays like TPLR my only negative thought was tho that they have lost market share and unlike I-CAP do not have a large war chest so there maybe yet more downward pressure and lastly the ongoing court case .
Icap is very diverse and to me is set to offer further growth.
I like vivendi bought at 16.5 euros 8% yield and 2 analaysts reported fair value at 22 - 25 euros now trading at 19.50.

Dapper, if TLPR continue falling it might be worth switching into those as there will be much better value there and a good chance of merger / takeover.

Well I am happy with the results but I am more impressed with the amount of new investment in more cash generative businesses giving a more secure platform to grow in the future .
Long term hold and buy for me .
As usual i will buy on any weakness that takes us below £4 im not sure rocketsblasts thoughts that we might hit 3.40 to be wide of the mark

These have simply fallen with the rest of the market. I don't believe it has anything to do with the "wells" notice.

Formal notice (Icap)

RNS Number : 3279B
ICAP PLC
23 October 2009

?

ICAP plc announcement
On 22 October, 2009, the New York Regional Office Staff of the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission (SEC) provided ICAP Securities USA LLC (ICAP), a
subsidiary of ICAP plc, with a "Wells" notice stating that the Staff intends to
recommend that the Commission bring enforcement actions for possible violations
of the federal securities laws. The notice relates to an existing SEC
investigation into the market in certain fixed income securities which has been
ongoing since 2005. The Wells notice is not a formal allegation nor a finding of
wrongdoing. The company has discussed these matters with the SEC, has
substantial disagreements with the SEC regarding how they should properly be
viewed, and will vigorously put forth its position if and when any such charges
are brought. Further statements will be made as appropriate.

I believe the current seller is legal and general i might be wrong tho :o).
I have a feeling that the market as a whole is about to turn south

Thanks Dapper and 2NGH. Always a long term holder of IAP but couldn't understand the recent slump even when the FTSE was heading upwards in a big way. Rekindled confidence again today though.

I would be amazed if we went sub £4 at the moment the doom mongers have left the building and we are back to the facts/reality i would of thought £4.50 would be a fair price until we have posative news which can take us forward .
Im a holder from sub £3 and have sold none.

No problem.

I think when the current seller has finished the share price will rebound substantially. At what point this is however is anyones guess.

Will continue watching but thought an entry of around 410 would be met with support. Will see what price action occurs around this level to try and establish the next direction.

Good luck.

Ps - Strange trading range 423-409!!

For every buyer there is a seller. If the price goes down it's because more people are willing to sell than there are wanting to buy. Don't take too much notice of the buys and sells shown - they are just intelligent guesses.

Thanks 2NGH. But in theory, how does the price go down when more money is pumped in than taken out.

Possible seller in the market which is why the continual slide.

Although the above rns suggests that LG are buyers around this level.

Been watching this a while now from the highs and unsure of the imminent direction.... looks bearish at present but how far will it go? 350?

FTSE up by 20+ points, buying outstripping selling, IAP is considerably down. Can anyone explain why the MM's do this ? The obvious logic is that money goes in, the price goes up (generally) but this is going south. In for long term with IAP but wish I knew the mechanics.

Bought a few after that dip. Worth a punt in my view. Trend seems to have changed to positive. Could be wrong of course so quite tight stop advisable

dapper, I sold the lot and will only get back in if they fall back closer to £3. There are lots of other opportunities out there at the moment.
