01/7/2010 17:44 | ICAP or Tullett? - I am weighing up which to buy. Any thoughts appreciated. | essentialinvestor
01/7/2010 16:30 | Another opportunity to buy coming :-) | highlands
21/6/2010 10:19 | Highlands Maybe this time might be different but i agree if the pattern behaves like usual there might be a re-trace and another chance to buy but i think this rise has legs . Ive been buying shell after tullet started rising instead of falling to my buy price but its worked out ok . | dapper don
18/6/2010 13:58 | Reduced my core holding - cashing in most of my shares ready for the next big drop. | highlands
04/6/2010 09:51 | Taking some profits from my trading shares, leaving core holding. | highlands
27/5/2010 16:13 | Dapper, Like you I was waiting for TLPR to hit sub 290 and instead added IAP while they were down :-) My small TLPR holding is still showing a loss (even accounting for the 10p divi) but should hopefully recover. | highlands
26/5/2010 11:05 | ICAP I agree Highlands with this much volatility profits should be rolling in . I also believe some of the new buisiness they set up over the last 2 years might start to bare fruit, i know some were not so great and were closed swiftly tho before they became a drain.. Still in cash as well. Picked a few more up at 3.55 i would have to say im fully loaded here now. As for tullet can you see sub £2.90 ? im waiting for that area or lower before i buy. | dapper don
25/5/2010 13:06 | ICAP must be rather busy with the current volatility in the market! | highlands
18/5/2010 17:28 | Fantastic recovery here after the recent turmoil in the markets (another opportunity to pick up cheap stock). | highlands
07/5/2010 15:40 | The way the market is tanking, we may see £3 here again. I will be adding on the way down. | highlands
27/4/2010 14:35 | Yep i agree with all your points . I am kicking myself tho that i didnt add again just before they shot up after take over talk . So whilst I am in profit i will hol;d on the news if the buy out fails i will be a buyer again at sub 2.90. As for IAP i think there is still some money to be made here trading in our new range 3.80 -£4.20. Todays drop imho is just following financial sentiment in the sector after large gains. | dapper don
27/4/2010 09:44 | TLPR is by no means a done deal. If the deal falls through I expect a 50p drop at the very least and I will continue holding for a recovery. On the other hand, I will sell on a firm takeover offer (expect at least 450). | highlands
26/4/2010 18:35 | What price target do you have for TLPR ? With a buyout imminent | dapper don
26/4/2010 12:14 | I still have my core holding (not huge) but took profits on my trading holding and bought some TLPR. I agree with your short-term range and may sell my core holdings the next time they spike to 450. | highlands
26/4/2010 11:21 | Things sure are tough for Poor old Michael down to his last £150 mill and having to go back to work to earn his crust . I said i thought the trading range would be 3.80 -4-20 there is not enough evidence to make me think they can move out of that range just yet . Your thoughts ? IM long long long from rather nice prices | dapper don
26/4/2010 09:40 | According to the Sunday Times rich list Michael Spencer's net worth fell from 250 million to 150 million in the last year while most others on the list saw their wealth go up. He is also due to quit as tory treasurer soon. Hopefully, this will get Spencer more motivated and focused to get the share price back up! | highlands
24/3/2010 09:12 | Well that was a nice statement from Mr Spencer this morning . I do strongly believe that when markets return ICAP will be in a superb position to exploit it to the full. Like you highlands I have been here a long time I will be buying more on any big drops . Im still holding from 2.50. I would expect a trading range of 3.80 -4.20 soon . | dapper don
22/3/2010 17:33 | ICAP have got rid of the "cancer" called "cash equities" as expected. Market probably dissapointed that there were no buyers. | highlands
16/3/2010 15:51 | Any reason why IAP is on the up while TLPR is falling? Not that I'm complaining :-) | highlands
15/3/2010 15:59 | Just wait until the FTSE goes into freefall, ICAP is likely to profit from deals. | pixi
10/3/2010 11:34 | Agreed with above LONDON (ShareCast) - Footsie continues to sit around the 5,600 point mark, with little in the way of company news to lift stocks. However, FTSE 250-listed derivatives broker Tullett Prebon is the stand-out after it confirmed preliminary discussions with a third party which may or may not lead to an offer. In the FTSE 100, Tullett's rival, the interdealer broker ICAP, is higher in sympathy | togglebrush
10/3/2010 09:36 | Looks like possible bid for Tullets helping these as well. I'm sure Spencer would be ready to sell his stake for the right price too! | highlands
04/3/2010 14:53 | In at 3.60. | pixi
03/3/2010 14:00 | a nice slow and steady cruise back to £7 patience!!!! a big ask ???/hmmmm why not??? the ruperts will take this up and down for 50 pence trip, manipulation is the name of this game ,and rupert and charles have decided on iap to play with take advantage. good luck .............d1 | deemac1 |
