Excellent update. This remains a great investment for the long term investor

Very strong buy recommendation in Investors Chronicle. £2 plus. I think that is VERY conservative

Harworth is 65% owned by three shareholders. These being 25% by Nick Roditi & Family (London & Amsterdam Trust),he is billionaire former associate of George Soros;15% by Peel Group/John Whittaker and 25% by UK Coal Miners Pension Fund.Harworth is of course the old UK Coal/RJB Mining which was refinanced by Peel and then shareholders in association with its pension fund around 8 years ago & over the subsequent 2 or 3 years by 3 or so fundings and morphed into Coalfield Resources, then Harworth Estates to present Harworth Group.Peel sold down its investment largely due to problems in other parts of its property empire (particularly Intu) with Roditi directly and indirectly picking up shares over the last couple of years.I have been a shareholder for this time. The shares are very cheap in my opinion in fact they were at this price 5 years ago and today it is a much better company with a much more balanced portfolio. The problem I think is that most private investors are going for REITs which offer a higher yield as they are investing in existing properties rather than being a developer and open ended property funds are strapped for cash as they are facing redemptions so are not buying. If you are investing you may need to take a long term view. But I have made over 300% capital gain here over the period I have held, but next to nothing in income but over the years the income element will increase as the property portfolio is built up as development land is sold.

I think the newer assets yielding nicely too should also underpin the divident which should attract the other type of investor!

If you check the annual report and the relevant RNSs you will see that Peel have sold down their shareholding - presumably they have had more pressing problems elsewhere.
Roditi, arguably one of the UK's most successful private investors has simultaneously built up his family stake from 3% 18 months ago.

Historic levels. I can only see once where volume has exceeded this. It's monumental compared to daily volume and something that (in light of the stock movements, particularly relative to the wider market) is clearly needed to give the stock a chance to rally.

It'll be interesting to see who is buying because that could add impetus (as per BLND recently) to the stock. I just wonder if it's Invesco selling again and holding the stock back.

Nonetheless, investors coming in to buy such large amounts is a signal of confidence. It doesn't mean the stock is a guaranteed 17 bagger. It might fart around in this range for abit as the exchanges complete. Hopefully then clears the £1 mark and narrows the discount in line with the bullish news today and some of the incredibly bullish moves out there.

Yes, can only guess but looks like a buyer is helping a seller to offload a decent chunk. If it's a buyer of note, that could be very positive. Right now, hard to know. It certainly strikes me as appealing to an investor prepared to take a long term view on it and that would explain the discount too.

nice rise recently to an agreeable 126p had an investor/analysts tour of sites recently and the main market listing should continue to stir interest. A well run well capitalised business now steady rises to i hope circa 150p now.
