QS99 - I remember that in an interview Dan Betts said they might hedge against the money owed to Coris, but that the rest of the cashflow he would leave unhedged. Now would seem to be a good moment to do that!

wonder where a $1,300 price of gold would put the HUM metrics? only a few $ to go to get there now. Will HUM hedge/forward sale to bank in gains?

Darola -- enjoy your holiday. At least you can go away knowing HUM a safe place to be invested, unlike others with betting slips riding on the likes of PVR / 88E etc..

Can anyone point me to a presentation/document on the site that goes into the finances and production numbers for the Mali project? Their website is not the easiest to navigate...

Thanks in advance

Im in Shanta as can't believe Tanzania will do a Mugabe. But it is Africa so who knows! HUM continuing nice rise... 40p next hurdle... gold price approaching $1,300 should help HUM financials materially IMO DYOR

I've looked closely at Shanta, both a couple of years ago and recently. I was never convinced by either the old management (the CEO has just quit recently) or the Tanzanian resource. Of course, now the share price has tanked due to fellow gold miner Acacia's troubles with Tanzania's corrupt, thieving bulldozer of a President (troubles which probably end in forced nationalisation without compensation). Right now I've got no idea if gold mining has any future in Tanzania at all, and what Shanta's shares might be worth. It's one for gamblers only.

Interesting story that, built up prior to first pour then tanked before the news... one to be mindful of indeed.

Going to do a bit more reading to see if there are possible similarities.

au24, do you know if there was a 'specific' reason? Not spotted anything yet.

Was going to buy in here at 20p but my Shanta experience put me off.
Hindsight and all that.

Drop back on buy volume today after a few days of consecutive increase. Could do with s bit of consolidation before it pushes back up.

Have a stack of these from 13p and that purchase is showing good paper profits. There is renewed interest in the run-up to production and I will be adding more on any weakness. I hold for a pound by xmas!

zeberdie - agree with your SOU analogy.
SOU are a few months away from doing much the same in both east & west Morrocco.
Yes I've got a stack of SOU & am (for now only) underwater on them.

HUM are starting the same pattern as in last Dec/Jan when share price yomped up 50%...
Rinse & repeat, I hope.

Happy days. Well done all those in from 20s. Will look for top ups as production happens and we get better sight on cash flows and profits!

Bitt, it is what it is. The plant has been constructed and it's now turning into a gold producing reality by an experienced team with a good pedigree and a lot of hard work. BRING ON THE POUR.
