Good commentary from you, Sleveen.

The structuring of the interest, 9% until completion and 7.75% thereafter, both reflects the risk and acts as an incentive and the rates look commercial.

I am thankful that this has come through, as I was beginning to wonder if, having carefully avoided the Kefi "jamorrow" trap, I had fallen into another "all talk and no do" operation. Now we can look forward to steady progress and a return of market confidence along with that.

From Beaufort Breakfast Today :

Our view: This is a major milestone for Hummingbird, the company has significantly de-risked Yanfolila by securing 100% funding following the recent US$71m equity raise combined with the above announcement. The company can now focus on mine construction and continues to target its first gold pour by end of 2017 and 132,000oz of gold production within the first full year of operation. Christmas has apparently come early for Hummingbird shareholders and we look forward to further developments as the construction phase proceeds. In the meantime, we maintain a Speculative Buy rating on the stock.

Better to have belts and braces rather than see your pants round your ankles :-)

Had HUM needed funds in say 6 motns most investors would have said why didn't they forsee a possible overrun it's common in miners; look at AUE if you dare!

The elephant in the room.... :-(

I was expecting $35 million to $45 mililon not $55 million. Surely there was enough money in the kitty to soldier on until April without the cost overrun facility?

SHG had to pay even more for its loans.

HUM able to carry on build out to production. No loan extension no HUM.

Yes the interest rate seems too high, but at least the funding is now sorted, so roll on!

Truly shocking terms. Equity raise would have been far better. It's likely over 10% when all is taken into account. Daylight robbery.

I believe we will know on Thursday if they have got the debt funding, because they want to use part of that to pay off the Taurus bridging loan, which is due on 8th.
