27/6/2014 14:58 | BBC Radio 4 Today's Friday Boss runs a company specialising in "editing" our genetic codes to help combat diseases. Darrin Disley says his company, Horizon Discovery, has the technology to create "surrogate patients in a test tube" to let pharmaceutical firms develop patient-specific medicines to counter genetic defects. More from Today's Friday Boss interview. Genetic sequencing will soon become "routine" in doctors' surgeries, says Darrin Disley, from health research firm Horizon Discovery. The first human genome took 10 years and about $3bn (£1.7bn) to sequence, but the "trend is downwards to the low hundreds of dollars" and can now be done in just a few hours. | surething1

17/4/2014 07:05 | - A "revolutionary" drug trial aimed at discovering personalised treatments for the UK's biggest cancer killer will begin this summer, scientists have announced, in an advance which experts say opens up a "new era" in the fight against cancer. In an unprecedented partnership between cancer researchers, the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry, scientists will exploit a new understanding of the genetic properties of cancer tumours to help them identify drugs to be "targeted" at patients with specific variants of lung cancer. cont.............. | mirabeau

16/4/2014 11:31 | Down now to IPO price.. So can be had at 180p. Am tempted to add .. But at same time the markets have just lost lustre and with Ukraine tensions and all I am wondering if it might drop a bit more. Timing entry is a mugs game, but having bought already at 205, am trying to average down by the most possible.. | malhashemi
16/4/2014 10:56 | What a calamitous performance since the IPO though with $120m+ in contracted milestone + upfront payments it's looking a tad more attractive. The caveat being of course is that to receive those payments Horizon need to uncover a treatment capable of phase 1 trials.. | mirabeau
16/4/2014 06:15 | Well I am not selling. Nothing has fundamentally worsened for the company since listing only market malaise pulled shares back, like other stocks. I might add if it drops to 180, and once it recovers to (say) 210p , however long that takes, then I will only exit the initial holding I bought at 205p to use elsewhere and retain the holding I bought at lower entry price.. | malhashemi
14/4/2014 21:31 | I was trying to leverage this by shortening the share against my long position on Friday , but every time I try to short it keeps saying that: you can only trade in a live market. I use capitalspread.com, have any of You experienced anything like this? Cheers. | modform
14/4/2014 16:21 | Will retain an eye on these during the current malaise. Be interesting to see where it goes. | manics
14/4/2014 15:11 | Holdingmine. I don't sell on a general market pullback. Quality will out in the end. | cestnous
14/4/2014 13:55 | This is not a trading stock...buy and hold if you believe in its business and technology.I might add here... | nurdin |
