Had a call around a couple of brokers I'm friendly with. The market is suddenly tight for stock now that Woodford has cleared the seller. There is someone looking to pick up shares, but there isn't much around (feeling is that it isn't Woodford). Positive sentiment also building via the trade press, where an increasing number of major pharma companies are commenting that they are using Horizon's diagnostic kits in their development programmes. With a fair wind, stock should settle + or - £2 in short term, with corporate update in early May being the next potential trigger.

Yup - normally no smoke without fire in these small caps. Hope it's a really exciting corporate announcement rather than a bid at this stage...but not complaining after holding for such a long time.

From 160p to nearly over 200p and 30p off an all time high ,must be a bidder waiting to pounce who is hoovering up the shares Imo .

Could the EBITDA positive announcement come with the results next month ? Should be well over 200p if they do .Currently not many sellers about and the market is looking to pick up stock so could go higher unless the sellers turn up.I was also wondering where deltrotter was I thought he would be here riding this up.

Surprised my old Cumbrian marra Del Trotter has not been commenting on the recent rise. I bought 2 years too early but happy now to be back in profit (from 171p). Always a long term hold, but has taken its time to get going! EBITDA positive will hopefully be next catalyst. cant see it going much higher before that confirmation but very happy to be wrong!

A friend of mine called up to buy some this morning a large amount and the MM keeps putting the price up!!! Good strategy to get the price up!! Make out dummy large buys!!

This is a long term hold for me because the company has a long term strategy that it is executing. Cut from the last TU from our CEO.

"Horizon is building a global life science business that exploits a world-leading position in gene editing to deliver the picks and shovels that support the new gold rush taking place in healthcare around the development of genetically-targeted medicines and cell and gene therapies. The Group is realising the benefits of this strategy through continued strong revenue growth, having invested for scale through 2016, and having implemented measures to transition to profitability thereafter."

We will not be profitable this year but we are building a business with a very large moat and consequent high margins that will become increasingly profitable in the future. Then we should see the share price respond and that is why I think the likes of Woodford are building their positions. Patience will be rewarded IMV. DYOR

I'm happy in a way its Woodford buying; he's put the fund in a position where he now has huge influence on the company (and pressure to make something happen, either operationally or strategically). I'm prepared to hang on (after so long!!)

Lets hope Woodford knows something we don't or starts to look for a buyer .Reckon there's about 600k still of legal and generals stock still to shift should be all clear by the end of the tax year and then they can notify the market of their 0% holding...Good Riddance !

Was that your 1.59m CatsWhiskas :)? If it transpires that it's Woodford who is buying, I'm inclined to give this another few months, as his stake size will effectively put him in control of the company.

I honestly don't know what's going on here at all.I thought I knew which was legal and general have dumped their entire holding which is being bought by Woodford and other investors at 162.5 .Whoever it is are obviously not impressed as they will be selling at a loss that's what I think but could be way off the mark .What I do know is this is not looking particularly good and I may join the rest of the pis on this thread and sell out before I lose any more money here.

Another day of large volumes and no price movement; either a last stand or a canny predator. Hoping for the latter but fearing it's the former.
