02/10/2015 16:30 | Bad news for Horizon and others who have paid for licenses for the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology! hxxp://labiotech.eu/ It seems there are other proteins other than Cas9 that can do the same job only better. Implications: i) There are going to be many gene editing proteins out there, so companies such as Horizon won't have to pay so much for licences, ii) the winner of the race to cash in on gene editing services will not just be limited to those with the most money who can afford the licenses, it will be about who is best at marketing and who can enable their customers to get their gene editing done in the most efficient way. The new technology should fit with Horizon's current approach of offering a portfolio of gene editing technologies. Having Fang Zheng (who found the new gene editing protein) on the advisory board must also help. On the marketing side, they are up against some big players like Origene and ThermoFisher. They will have less to invest in pushing Cripsr but also should be able to have more laser-like focus on it than their larger rivals. | kestelmill

22/9/2015 15:10 | Video interview with CEO Disley Darrin Disley, chief executive of Horizon Discovery Group (LON:HZD), discusses plans to scale-up the firm’s product inventory, put in place global sales channels and invest in the R&D side of the business. The CEO was speaking Proactive after releasing a after a positive set of half year results in which products revenue rose 73% to £3mln and services revenue jumped 205% to £5.4mln. AIM-listed Horizon has pioneered a way of editing genes with exceptional precision to produce what it calls ‘patients in a test tube’ or mutated cells. 22/9/2015 02:41 | As it hasn't been mentioned on here before, or in any rns, it's my understanding that any cash returns from the leveraged r&d business will be paid out to shareholders - via special divs i assume. So a nice incentive to hold onto those shares... | rambutan2
21/9/2015 09:45 | Hard to believe the complete lack of interest in these with only 2,300 shares traded the day before the results. Hope they are as good as XLM's today and accompanied by an upbeat forward statement!! | cumbrian2
17/9/2015 09:28 | Great article Mirandaj. I love the way HZD takes no / low risk carried interests. As soon as one of these pays off, the price will fly. Like others, I've build a position here by averaging, and feel very comfortable holding for the long term even if slightly underwater at the moment. | mamcw
16/9/2015 20:10 | Fantastic - thanks mirandaj! | deltrotter
16/9/2015 08:20 | Average 174. Should be in profit soon. Bought in to early on first buy and had to wait for second spike to get out. Thought I'd got in at the bottom last time but wrong again. Edit; Well perhaps not as soon as I thought. | cestnous
16/9/2015 08:13 | (Good to see another Cumbrian on here.) I too bought early - average about 195p I think (bought between 220p and 175p). | deltrotter
16/9/2015 08:00 | Ditto, glad I hold just was too impatient to buy | ayl30
16/9/2015 07:56 | more good news. Really believe this could be one that does very well over the next 5 years, so a long term hold for me. Built up 40,000 shares but bought first lots too early so a 190 average is still below water. Expect do be in profit by end of year and double from there within next two years. | cumbrian2
15/9/2015 17:29 | Yeah, some trades just reported. Nice volume today and chart looking good alongside it... Results next Tuesday. | deltrotter
15/9/2015 14:04 | Looks like there is a buyer hoovering up loose stock. | phowdo

09/9/2015 14:53 | 80,000 shares bought at 168. Looks like we are going to have a strong finish. Seems you made a good investment melody - should be in a decent profit very soon. | oggyrocks
09/9/2015 10:11 | Share price looking good. Buying on the bid. Expect to see it rise again on further buying. Chart looking good. All positives here. Only a smallish holding for me, but think it will be a profitable next future. | oggyrocks |
