09/3/2017 08:40 | That is very good advertising indeed! Remember the shares usually go up in anticipation of the metals rising. Those in the know front running as usual I expect! | goldenshare888

08/3/2017 20:43 | "Gold prices log 7th straight loss." As we know this is no market. Gold $1209. This big money at $1230 that Andrew Maguire spoke of appears to have gone awol .... | stevea171
08/3/2017 19:33 | May silver bulls have also lost their overall near-term technical advantage. Silver bulls’ next upside price breakout objective is closing futures prices above solid technical resistance at $18.00 an ounce. The next downside price breakout objective for the bears is closing prices below solid support at $17.00. First resistance is seen at the overnight high of $17.57 and then at $17.82. Next support is seen at $17.25 and then at $17.00. Wyckoff's Market Rating: 5.0. | dt1010

08/3/2017 18:05 | Ending the day flat in the face of falling silver price is pretty fair for HOC. Also nothing nasty in these results. juju my general view for you: inflation, mass printing outcome returning to roost, protectionism and slowing China growth. Failure to export US treasuries. Repatriation of same by China and Saudi. And who else. There is always somewhere doing better than others, but I cannot see the west remaining in some fancy bull market over the next few years. The world is getting worse and worse. Britain and the US are due a recession. Even the Institute of forecasts today were quoted in the budget as saying 2% growth this year but will be paid for in low ( ie failing )( growth later. The pound is going down the drain and Brexit resolution is two years hence. an 80 cent pound by then is quite feasible. Hold gold and silver, as always, as a hedge and as insurance against currency falls and stock market downside IMHO. I would love to have gone back 4 years and bought these bitcoins too at around $3.50. | hectorp
08/3/2017 18:01 | OTT Hectorp sorry to hear of the flu. Your vitamin D level will be pretty low hence your flu as it halves every 10 weeks. Not available from Sun until May. My level is 150 or so and I do not get flu or colds. Flu jab is full of mercury and aluminium so best avoided and does not work. If you were not tested for vitamin D3 for the last year get an NHS test, average in Uk about 30! See Dr Mercola for suggested supplementation which is quite cheap and choose 5000 IU capsules with olive or similar oils and quite cheap. With my GBS I take 15000 IU per day but if you are otherwise healthy 5000-10000 daily should be OK. Vitamin D now known to be a powerful hormone involved in just about all metabolism one way or another, is anticancer amongst other things at 200+ blood level. Chinese research just proved flu jab makes you more likely to contract other diseases. Hopefully you mneed not suffer flu more badly than a one day fever and aching. That was my wife's situation in tropical Borneo where she lived before with a blowtorch sun. Nice results here and not much reaction to divi but then who wants gold and silver, probably time nearing to buy. JNUG over the water was 4.5 before, looking 5 or so so to add. | edjge2
08/3/2017 17:36 | US is boomimg bigtime, seems $20 TRILLION (and rising rapidly) DEBTS are indeed the way forward. Perhaps if everyone in the UK borrowed an additional £500,000 we could boom too?! I am filling out loan applications 24 hrs a day to try and do my bit to boost our economy..... LOL | goldenshare888
08/3/2017 17:02 | Even if these are low paid non productive jobs..the FED have no way of backing out of the imminent rate rise as this points to another big NFP number on Friday and IMHO a surge in the USD. Trump Effect: ADP Employment Surges Near Most In 6 Years On Record Goods-Producing Job Gains Following January's surge in employment (biggest gain in 7 months), February's ADP print exploded higher to 298k (5 sigma above all expectations). This is the third biggest monthly employment gain of the expansion. It appears the 'Trump Effect' is the biggest driver as the ADP payroll surge was mostly due to a record surge in employment for goods-producing industries. | onedayrodders
08/3/2017 16:17 | I think they (the dark side) might try and force a $16 handle on POS just for good measure ..if they do I'll be surprised if that's not heavily bought and we bounce back quickly. | onedayrodders

08/3/2017 15:25 | Amazing looking at the 24hr KITCO chart above and blue, red and green lines falling almost at the same levels each day. | onedayrodders
08/3/2017 15:04 | 2016 Interim dividend was 1.38 cents per share. Final proposed dividend of 1.38 cents per share making 2.76c ($14.0 million) for the full year. With Banks paying zero interest on deposits or near zero and in some cases negative interest any unused cash is best put in a company like HOC that is paying out twice a year and is likely to up its dividends when debt is repaid next year. Payment of dividends is important to the company for its investors not least of whom is Eduardo Hochschild with a 54% stake here. Investors here get a double whammy of cap appreciation plus dividends. | stevea171
08/3/2017 14:45 | What we are seeing here today is a reflection of the disgraceful manipulation of precious metals prices. No way should this have dropped below parity on such excellent results. | charles clore |
