15/2/2017 21:27 | Oh, I recall alright SG. I didn't act as it didn't look to me possible to be such a downturn post Trump. Which meant I missed out on many more HOC shares than I (still) have now. Wasted time too but the economic realities were never in doubt once the manipulation got out of the way. Topicel | topicel

15/2/2017 21:24 | Thanks for that anecdote Friendzarin. It will not be isolated to Las Vegas. I'm sure plenty of Home Depots etc. employ seniors in much the same way the B&Q and Wickes chains do in Britain, or the Bricorama, Mr. Bricolage stores do here in France, even though they are allowed to still retire earlier than most Western Countries - save Greece! The key is 'available for work' and if you are such after one year of 'looking' you get taken of the leading headline statistics of employment data and will only be found under M6, which correctly counts all who are looking for work. Apparently, 93m Americans or 23% of the workforce are employable and looking... Topicel | topicel

15/2/2017 20:24 | With Yellen speak now becoming a distant memory and intrest rates on hold till probably June the Dollar Index looks to be continuing the rollover of the right shoulder | saturdaygirl
15/2/2017 20:21 | Top Went to L V last year and was surprised how many older (and I'm senior) guys were in the workforce. Not sure what that means. Hope it's for positive personal reasons but suspect it certainly looked more like for the job rather than as a calling. | friendzarin
15/2/2017 17:10 | She blames the labour force participation number on an aging population, which is only partly true of course. Plenty of older folks are also in the figures because they have to work to top-up measly pensions and benefit provisions. Oh, and a good few are like her and hogging a job beyond retirement. I guess she could retire? Would be nice. Topicel | topicel
15/2/2017 16:35 | Gold and silver moving higher, towards $1230 and $18 respectively. | shakeypremis
15/2/2017 16:12 | Dollar Extends Longest Winning Streak Since 2012 As March Rate Hike Odds Surge Following this morning's soaring inflationary and retail sales data, and following Yellen's hawkish tone yesterday, March rate-hike odds have soared from below 25% to over 40%. The Dollar Index is extending its recent winning streak on this move - now up 11 days in a row, the longest streak since May 2012. | stevea171
15/2/2017 15:52 | No way, a Senator is actually referring to labour force participation rate. He's really grilling her. | shakeypremis |
