13/9/2005 14:09 | Thanks. He`s right about the downside ,however i`m not sure about the mm`s being short, there appears to be a large seller imo. | jwe
13/9/2005 14:06 | He writes a daily column on the net every day. Used to write in the Times. He is a very good tipster in my opinion! | gswredland
13/9/2005 13:44 | Who is Robbie Burns? | jwe
13/9/2005 13:19 | Robbie Burns has bought into HWY again today, proving that he's a sucker for a bargain: "I've gone bananas and bought some more Highway Insurance today (HWY) - another 10,000 shares at 58.5p. Same target and stop loss as the other buy. Let's hope I don't need any insurance to cover any losses on this one! The more I look at it the cheaper it looks. A few market maker buys going in today so they might be a bit short. The only trouble is they may try and tree-shake (move the price down to get sellers) but I will try and ride this out. It goes ex dividend tomorrow for around 1.6p. So anyone in by close of play today picks up the dividend. Although of course the share should open down 1.5p tomorrow to take account of this - but I don't think it'll be long before it's on the up again! Phew!" | rivaldo
13/9/2005 11:23 | More buying coming in and the price moving up - perhaps the sellers are cleaned out? | rivaldo
13/9/2005 10:31 | Still going....anyone wanting the 1.6p interim divi will have to buy today as HWY goes ex-div tomorrow. | rivaldo
13/9/2005 09:48 | There are some big buys coming in!! Looks good. | gswredland
13/9/2005 09:38 | Yep, I'm in too first thing today in my ISA. With the seasonally better H2 to come leading to a tiny cheap current year P/E plus the mega imminent divi I can't see much if any downside, but substantial and near-term upside. | rivaldo
13/9/2005 09:07 | robbie burns is in nice guy and a very good stockpicker so good news I suppose | alansmith23
12/9/2005 20:36 | Spoke to my broker and you are all right...i will get the divi maybe not directly but it may go to the broker. Thanks chaps | leadersoffice
12/9/2005 17:05 | so how much is the divi chaps?we get the interim payment of 1.6p per share? | gswredland
12/9/2005 14:03 | so what is the last date that i can buy and get the divi? | harvey_b
12/9/2005 08:10 | Whilst everybody is focusing on the divi we should not forget the likely p/e here.In the last two years the second half eps has been in excess of three times H1,if that were to happen this year(and i`m not suggesting it will)it would give an eps of 16p giving a p/e of less than four. Personally i think we can safely assume a H2 eps of at least 6p(very marginally above H2 for 2004 and 2003) giving a p/e of less than 6.Too cheap so i`ve just added another 10k. | jwe
12/9/2005 07:46 | Leadersoffice, as long as you haven't closed your position before COB on the 13th you will get the dividend. If u close your position on the 14th, 15th etc, you'll still get it. Of course, one would also expect a corresponding price drop at the open on the 14th to take account of the divi. | mertles
11/9/2005 09:24 | jwe.so good to have you onside with your expertise.:-) | ssvsjs
11/9/2005 09:14 | Personally i feel the price will have to rerate upwards until the yield comes down to a bare minimum of 8%(62.5p)but more likely 7%(71.5p). | jwe
11/9/2005 08:59 | Kewl Will double check with my broker Thanks for that. Is it likely the share price will hold up or do people think it could slip back to where it was pre int results? Looks a tasty company and now a whopping 89% increase in divi. Well kewl | leadersoffice
10/9/2005 11:20 | the ex div date is 14th Sept, record date is 16th | dellandave
10/9/2005 10:12 | You will get the dividend as long as you made the trade (buy) before the share going XD, (ignore the share register date unless it is the same date as the xd date) | factsonly
10/9/2005 09:46 | leadersoffice - as i understand it the T10 means you have ten days to pay for the shares. You have simply borrowed the money to buy the shares and now own them, your name/nominee will be on the register as owner in three days from purchase (T3, T10, T20 not withstanding), so subject to you paying on time you will receive the divi. If you dont pay on time the divi will be reclaimed from you. | oniabsta
09/9/2005 22:50 | The directors have declared an interim dividend of 1.6p per share, which will be paid on 14 October 2005 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 16 September 2005. | randv
09/9/2005 21:36 | ssvsjs-:-) | jwe
09/9/2005 16:39 | before the 16th,your getting 10%for six months now that is a stonking return and it seems can only go down by increasing share price assuming all statements are correct.a win - win.!!! lovely. | ssvsjs |
