28/2/2024 10:57 | It will be interesting to see what they pay for their share buybacks, albeit a small allocation of 50M. I have the feeling they will be on the value trail. I certainly hope so :). | fabius1
28/2/2024 10:36 | Valuations across this sort of asset class won't improve materially til we get interest rate cuts and probably more than 1 cut At the moment, 5% risk free from a savings account is too competitive against these assets (or indeed small caps). Once those accounts are down at 2%-3% or on a path to there, I think we'll see a re-rating in things like HICL | adamb1978
28/2/2024 07:15 | 18BT my sentiments exactly. Also the proposed share buyback should underpin the price more. | boozey
28/2/2024 07:11 | Perhaps selling something at such a huge premium to valuation will finally knock some sense into the mkt - probably not. | 18bt

15/1/2024 15:08 | blueliner, I was with HSBC invest direct but transferred out to ii. I found the service provided by HSBC inadequate (their web site is antiquated). After many errors and a particularly costly bad example I went to the FCA and was awarded a measly £250. They said that although HSBC had given me the wrong information, they didn't have to be right because they were an execution only broker. | pherrom
12/1/2024 10:07 | Morning I have escalating problems in receiving my HICL dividend. My holding unfortunately is through HSBC Stockbrokers, a historical peculiarity. The payment due to me 29th Dec remains unpaid on my account as HSBC admit they are having problems processing HICL dividends and some other stocks dividends. I had to ring up for the figure to complete the calendar year end. I could consider a stock transfer. Anyone else haaving to wait so long, I know there are rumblings how long it takes with certain providers to credit pi's accounts, could be down to platforms cutting staff numbers. | blueliner
02/1/2024 17:25 | Threw my toys as still no divi in my account with BESTINVEST Evelyn - sort it out lads. | richtea2517
30/12/2023 14:16 | Came into AJ Bell yesterday morning and was re-invested before the lunchtime close. | apparition1
30/12/2023 10:53 | I await mine | richtea2517

21/12/2023 07:07 | Incremental investment in a French toll road: A big announcement for a small deal (£20mn), but they're using it to showcase some general things about strategy. | jonwig
22/11/2023 08:17 | Result's are reassuring. Was lucky enough to pick some up at 120p last month. | chillpill
06/11/2023 09:20 | It's about the same as INPP and about 80-90bps wider than BBGI - but BBGI has the least risk out of the three (is also the one i now hold the most of) | williamcooper104
06/11/2023 09:19 | I'm getting to an 8.6 discount rate on the share price, adjusting for the discount to NAV and for management fees - not giving any credit for hold co leverage but that shouldn't make much difference | williamcooper104
06/11/2023 07:46 | 8% discount rate is looking pretty attractive IMHO c3% more than comparable gilts with some inflation protection. Actually most of the fall was the dividend payment. | 18bt
06/11/2023 07:18 | 5.5p reduction in NAV (30/09 vs 31/03): Shouldn't really be a surprise, as it follows higher discount rates. | jonwig
07/10/2023 18:53 | Better than a long tenor inflation linked gilt Alas too many didn't understand bond market math - inflation protected is often super long duration so your inflation protection comes from increased cashflows but at cost of huge capital value drawdowns Over long term capital value mark to markets don't matter and cashflows do; but if you have to sell your "inflation hedge" then it's not going to be pretty | williamcooper104
07/10/2023 17:21 | Looking back through an old investment magazine, at the same time inflation was a concern then, buy HICL as a defensive and hedge against inflation. Currently down nearly 30% !! | tayle
30/9/2023 21:30 | Shouldn't be Some of the dividends are treated as interest but still shouldn't be a deduction just might change your tax treatment of it depending on how you hold it - SIPP/ISA won't matter | williamcooper104
30/9/2023 20:24 | Does anyone know. Am a long time holder for my pains, is there a tax or anything else deducted from HICL dividend payments that we receive, not sure whether the broker I have used for this stock for long time knows. I certainly don't receive the full amount indicated, but is that just my inertness. | blueliner
28/9/2023 08:25 | It's good but what's it do for the divi cover | williamcooper104
28/9/2023 07:33 | Interesting the last sale left the Rcf at £330 m this sale of £204 m leaves it at £130m, maybe the £4 is for an Xmas party. | nerja |
