only the share buyback is keeping it up.

What's keeping this up?, NAV discount is now pretty negligible, risks look to the downside here.

It's about 0.5% of the share capital. So nothing to get too excited about!

That's a decent amount of shares and a very good price for that volume.

One wonders where the share price would be without it? However, it looks to me like it's enough to scoop up the overhang and the share price seems to have bottomed, at least for the moment anyway.

Central banks are increasing interest rates to combat inflation ... this has an adverse affect on bond yields

The Relationship Between Interest Rates and Bonds

The market interest rate is a key factor in determining the coupon rate (i.e., the periodic bond payments). That is why interest rate changes affect bond values. But remember that it is an inverse relationship - higher interest rates lead to lower bond values, everything else being equal. Similarly, reduced interest rates result in higher bond values, everything else being equal.

NAV down to 73.9p as published yesterday and it's going to be worse when published today.

I dunno. It's sad to see. But with a NAV of say 73p, I dont' find a purchase price of 70p enticing.

Just to add.
I think the US and Europe will be in recession by December but inflation will still be going North

Those just about everyone people , who are expecting inflation to peak soon , are the same people that said inflation was transitory and would peak at 2.4 per cent .
The majority of these people are Europhile Lefties that refuse to admit their whole European project has been badly wrong !
These people have been printing money since 2008 . They have no idea where inflation is going . This present money printing is the largest amount in the history of the planet .
Inflation will be 15 to 30 per cent by December. Imo

You're out on your own with these armageddon sounding forecasts superior. Just about everyone expects inflation to peak soon and then quickly head south.

I think hdiv has just bounced with the general market direction .
This little rally is little more than a bear market bounce .
Oil in the Summer is 115 dollars a barrel .
In 5 months time and the onset of Winter oil will be at least 200 dollars a barrell.
Inflation will be insane !.. The markets will go deep South .
I see 60p here within 6 months .

Nobody is talking of a recession and the prospect of rising inflation at the same time ..Why ?
It just catches my eye that a lot of companies are reporting sales falling , yet inflation is soaring !
A dodgy combination that .

The nav is up to 77.7p and the discount now is 8.9% as I've just been quoted 70.6p to buy. This discount is almost as high as it has ever been apart from the pandemic spike down. I've topped up already but I like keeping some powder dry.
