11/9/2009 16:37 | The people have re-rated their share. [with apologies to Volsung] | hoggetwood
11/9/2009 16:19 | Got some legs this one eh? | volsung
07/9/2009 09:17 | Thank you HoggetWood you are on my wavelength :) | volsung
04/9/2009 20:42 | Sorry, but I rather liked the pronouncement about 'the people'. It has a terseness and power which one finds in some of the profoundest aphorisms e.g. "The voice of the people is the voice of God." It triggered random 'thoughts' like "Hargreaves-Lansdown is the opium of the people", "The people have no Hargreaves-Lansdown shares." ["Then let them eat cake."], "H-L is the people's princess." &c. | hoggetwood
04/9/2009 17:54 | thank you for stating the obvious, now how about trying the not so obvious? | lordkendal
04/9/2009 16:04 | The people want this share | volsung
04/9/2009 14:01 | Feeling much better now :-) Question is in the short term how much more upside is there? and when does one take profits? or just leave alone for the next few years? | lordkendal
04/9/2009 13:49 | How pleasant | volsung
02/9/2009 16:44 | Great set of results. Nice upwards spike early on but now difficult to understand why the share price has fallen!! | lordkendal
02/9/2009 16:07 | I like the look of this share's jibb once more | volsung
02/9/2009 08:38 | A useful chart on 3 month LIBOR with the rate falling from 1.4% in June 2009 to around 0.65% currently. Base rate hasn't moved in this period. | scburbs
02/9/2009 08:34 | Let's dig a little further. Note 2 is useful for this. Fees and commissions £99.6m (down 2.6%) Interest and similar income £31.1m (up 86%) Other £2.1m (up 58%) Hmmm! Are these great results being achieved because of the credit crunch (due to the LIBOR base rate gap) rather than being achieved despite the credit crunch? | scburbs
02/9/2009 08:28 | Great results, but why the P/E of 23? No growth here next year as far as I can see. In fact the Chairman is hoping that they can stand still! If growth does slow or reverse you can't say the board hasn't warned about this risk. "We are conscious that some revenues we have enjoyed in the past will be materially reduced. However my team have identified areas which we believe can be profitable and hopefully replace these lost revenues but market conditions will still have a major part to play." This is the CEO's take on it. "One material loss of income will be the return we make on cash balances. This was tailing off during the financial year under review but the current financial year will bear the brunt of this loss of revenue." | scburbs
02/9/2009 07:53 | 73mill - beautiful. Should see new highs today. | shammytime
01/9/2009 21:14 | Excellent set of numbers expected tomorrow :-) Pretax profits should be higher than all of the broker estimates - I'd suggest £70m plus | shammytime
03/8/2009 08:26 | HL server down AGAIN. Do they not want their customers to stay aboard? | zangdook
02/8/2009 10:18 | Chairman Peter Hargreaves, who co-founded wealth manager Hargreaves Lansdown, said: "We live at a time when the hoped-for revival in the world economy is widely predicted to lead to a significant increase in oil prices and this, taken together with the growing awareness of the need to cut carbon emissions, makes the technology ITM is developing both timely and relevant." Is this a recommendation from PH to HL investors.......? | gerry321
15/7/2009 16:56 | Nice to see the blue again | lordkendal
11/7/2009 23:19 | What is ABRO? and how is that relevent to a cover up? | lordkendal
