05/12/2008 16:10 | Question for the weekend for anyone with investments in fund supermarket type portfolios in ISA's & other gift wrapped "tax efficient" structures that Vantage is all about - What are you doing with all the tax free losses on these Vintage holdings? Have you hit the maximum pain level yet or are you going to stay with them? | liquidkid
04/11/2008 18:02 | Missed the deal this morning. They went up 8% today. Any suggestions for a second broker ?? | tyranosaurus
04/11/2008 08:44 | I`m currently trying to deal. The website is so slow I `m not sure whether it`s responding or not. Will have to give up soon and get ready for work. | tyranosaurus
15/10/2008 08:36 | I have been trying to deal for the past 15 minutes. I can't get through the website to the dealing page. I can't even get through to see my holdings. Finally, "Cotact us" is out of contact. A bloody shambles! | dickbush
09/10/2008 20:08 | jenny Cambrian Mining came out with this yesterday: Change of Adviser Name London: 8 October 2008. Following its change of name from Landsbanki Securities (UK)Limited to Teathers Limited on 7 October 2008, the name of the Cambrian Mining's nominated adviser and joint broker is now Teathers Limited of: Beaufort House 15 St Botolph Street London EC3A 7QR. | ianbrewster
09/10/2008 13:20 | I second those thoughts. I was trying to buy into yesterday's panic and their website kept falling over. Just couldn't handle the volume. There's going to be a lot of disgruntled customers if they don't fix this. | dickbush
02/10/2008 16:06 | Don`t know why these are this high. Typing this while I wait 5 minutes to be signed in then 5 minutes to call up my portfolio. edit Price has now gone up. Will have to pay £100 more for the deal. A stockbroker who can! t be accessed when you really need to is not worth having. | tyranosaurus
29/8/2008 20:43 | Maybe but the original shareholders still hold 75%! | kenlum
29/8/2008 18:15 | if u hold, just sit back and enjoy the returns! I believe they will be taken over once 'credit crunch' is over!! | yet another final
27/8/2008 12:04 | Amazing the lack of interest in this share; great figures, good prospects and excellent dividends. | kenlum
11/7/2008 13:28 | There is the possibility of the FTSE getting sold down to the next level now, in terms of a bear market its getting pretty rediculously low, not hard to find 10% yielders. Pretty much anything you buy will turn a profit in 3 years never mind quality companys like HL :D Times are good for the investor and bad for the pension holder/endowment holder that currently needs to cash in. | jennyj
09/7/2008 21:13 | topped up today, at jan low. | mintpenguin
25/6/2008 11:38 | yes it looks like a good time to top up :) , good long term prospects make this an easy one to hold. Have sold a bit around the 180 mark to support my bank positions (when will it ever stop lol - soon I think). Unfortunatly cant top up for a few days till the wage comes in. So I hope theres a mid 140s offer a bit later. Lots of Joe public getting spooked out of there stock funds, when in fact the best time to increase positions are times like now - when the economys screwed. | jennyj
24/6/2008 12:05 | Jennyj: are you still in? Time to buy more? | das9
24/6/2008 11:34 | Er...not looking good to-day either : | das9
11/6/2008 17:24 | Year end 30th June - last years Report & Financial Statements received 29th October - I believe they are trading well at present but suffering from the general market problems - generally they have held up well though | kenlum
11/6/2008 16:40 | Not looking too good today. Is Year End end June? Anyone know when next statement likely? | das9
07/5/2008 14:21 | tlintody but dyor. ttfn. | hoggetwood
25/2/2008 13:00 | luvly jubbly as del boy says. Hmmm I am sitting on a 53% gain now :D Curious, not often things go your way so quickly. | jennyj
24/2/2008 16:31 | X div on the 27th this wednesday :) | jennyj
16/2/2008 18:54 | We're actually pretty much in agreement. It's been a good time to buy into h-l. I never fail to be impressed, incidentally, with whoever answers their phone. Everyone seems competent, well-informed and pleasant. The h-l customer interface is superb. The product is unbeaten. | hoggetwood
16/2/2008 17:13 | I have to go with the buy cheap and hold for a while strategy. Im not that good at predicting down turns in sentiment. Although im pretty good at identifying profits growth and when stocks are undervalued. With HL. being the best discount broker news spreads fast and most people I know are wanting to set up SIPPs with them etc. There are occasions where certain companys are decoupled and thus sellign can be a risk for example I have held mastercard since its IPO. As it stands its overvalued and teh rest of financials got hit, but it didnt. Which is a bit of a shame as I might have wanted a bit more at a fairer value of 120-140 dollars. My belief is at times like this brokers and exchanges make extrodenary profits. Sometimes in downturns the market recognises this other times it doesnt. Dont worry I enjoy a good ramble, debate and occasionally a flaming argument lol :D . | jennyj |
