you are correct, it would, but this has been ongoing for over 5 years now and is looking less and less likely. can you afford to tie up cash here for another 5 years when there are many other options? net cash is what 10/ 11m? which if given back to s/h would equate to circa double the current share price With the latest ruling the GOI can pretty much keep the case going for as long as they wish, with legal costs increasing the net cash position will be slowly eroded

I suppose that you are right but if this was ever resolved in Hardy Oil's favour then this share would go up several hundred percent.
I am tempted to buy a few at this insane price as I am not holding any this year or so.

to think that a few years ago, this was circa £2 - £3 ps. best option imv is to just call it quits and distribute cash to s/h. imo the GOI can just keep pushing this for as long as possible - they have all the time in the world.

Hardy Oil & Gas PLC,have announced the Supreme Court of India has upheld Union of India's appeal that Indian courts have jurisdiction over hearing an appeal against an arbitration tribunal's ruling.The Supreme Court had been considering the Union of India's appeal against a judgment by the High Court of Delhi that the India High Court did not have jurisdiction to hear the Union of India's appeal against the merits of an arbitration tribunal's ruling that the relinquishment of the CY-OS/2 exploration licence by the Union of India was unlawful.Hardy is the operator of the CY-OS/2 exploration block located offshore Pondicherry and holds a 75% participating interest.The company said the Supreme Court ruling means that the Union of India's appeal against the arbitration award will now be heard by the High Court of Delhi which will extend the legal process required to conclude the arbitration award.Hardy shares were down sharply on the news.

I have been watching this too - I disagree with you, many firms can win, what is annoying is that these cases take years / decades to resolve.Net cash is what circa 12p per share? Maybe time to close shop and hand back to s/hs?
