15/5/2019 13:30 | Thanks very much Rambutan2- will have a good read of the thread, seems like I've got a lot of catching up to do. | firtashia
15/5/2019 12:41 | firtashia, no, those are the costs for the trusts over the previous year ie that is what is being deducted off of the returns to get to the nav you see quoted. Of course, the performance fee parts of the cost/deduction will vary depending on how well the port has performed ie if the required hurdles aren't reached (8% is the norm) then no fee is taken. Do have a read through SKYSHIP's thread. | rambutan2
15/5/2019 08:46 | thanks Skyship- will take a look | firtashia
15/5/2019 07:56 | Firtashia - "I’m new to PE fund investments" - you may therefore be interested in The Private Equity thread: | skyship
15/5/2019 05:11 | Rambutan2-Thanks for the info, didn’t realise there were so many listed. Presumably all the costs referred to are applicable to those people investing directly in the funds, as opposed to the likes of us who are buying shares in the company managing those funds? A bit like buying shares in Schroder, Jupiter Asset management, etc, in this respect. Apologies if it’s a silly question, I’m new to PE fund investments. | firtashia
14/5/2019 20:31 | The key information document (KID) for HVPE and its PE competition. A much derided doc, and yes the performance scenarios are a complete waste of time. But the costs bit, with its reduction in yield (RIY) info is well worth a look, as imho it offers a much truer picture of costs than the "undercooked" ongoing charges fig (OCF) which is touted in the annual report and elsewhere. Some may be a tad surprised! HVPE: (I have doubts about the stated RIY as seems too low) PIN: SLPE: (Very clear break down of costs) ICGT: BPET: NBPE: APAX: PEY: HGT: OCI: III: (to be fair, unlike all the other trusts, 3i has inc from aum which offsets much of the costs) And out of interest, a few good trusts from other sectors, but which have PE/VC investments: SMT: RCP: (good clear breakdown of costs) BTEM: SYNC: WPCT: (has no management fee) NAS: | rambutan2
