18/10/2018 10:51 | onebd1 I have thought about your comments yesterday and wondered if you consider there is any truth in in the following. Trading in PMO at this moment in time is not based on company fundamentals. The share price is being deliberately manipulated and forced lower by using small multiple trades to try to influence the AT trading system. The likely outcome of this action is to force the share price to a level that will give the professional traders, hedge funds etc a much greater profit than may be possible by trading on company fundamentals alone. Or regardless of the improving outlook of PMO the share price is tracking the oil price? or neither | fitton
18/10/2018 08:34 | Playground stuff going a bit rampant here spoils a good thread and I think PMO will run again in due course. | edjge2

17/10/2018 17:29 | Temporarily they are doing just that . Remember stocks are also used as proxies for strategies and usually are traded in a basket . Look I hope nobody takes this the wrong way but just google "crude oil seasonality ' follow the inventory patterns . Cycles may look backwards but they do have a tremendous repeatability . Pmo mean reverted a bit to hit 146ish . But if you drew a simple trend line from 2011 connecting the tops on a weekly or better monthly chart what do you see ? Magic ? TA measures sentiment it's not backwards thinking . Seasonality , Market cycle , sector rotation , factor rotation even credit rotation, these are all important . | onedb1

17/10/2018 16:39 | Charts are backward looking - humans are hard-wired to see patterns in everything. Sometimes they work... sometimes they don't. | bgwesley
17/10/2018 16:21 | onedb1 Thanks for the insight - genuinely interesting. Given that PMO is throwing off cash over say $70 Brent, are you saying these correlations and cycles are powerful enough to trump the underlying fundamentals? | nav_mike
17/10/2018 16:14 | Just one thing look at my call at 127 /128 and reasoning . That should tell you something . Am actually a full time trader with institutional background . I appreciate bbs are open to all but rarely there are a few real traders . The idea that correlations don't matter i won't comment but I will kindly suggest never to say that out in an Hedge Fund interview lol . My entire model is based on correlations , rotations , cycles etc | onedb1
17/10/2018 16:09 | utter moron take a look at yerself son | adg

17/10/2018 15:28 | oneb1 Sorry but not everyone is trading based on correlations and charts.I thank you for your informed input and will take a view.I guess if it was as simple as following trends etc we might all be millionaires. As I am very interested in your opinion, where is the share price going from here? | fitton
17/10/2018 15:11 | Look at PMO's beta . It always over reacts it's the stocks implied volatility . Or see it the way you want . It's pretty clear you just didn't read nor did look at correlations I kindly suggested . Have a nice day. I gave away some good points to no avail . Silly me . | onedb1
17/10/2018 15:05 | I'm definately not fooled.£44m wiped of the value 3.6m shares traded, down 4.4%.4.4% of the share capital is 35m shares.Which ever way you look at it the figures don't stack up.Some including me would say manipulation others not.The only losers are the private investors. | fitton |
